This 1964 Studebaker Daytona has been with the seller for the past four years and is a highly original example showing a reported 65,500 miles. Power is produced by the original drivetrain including a 259ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission and equipment includes manual steering, mechanical brakes, heater/defroster, crank windows, and a matching trunk-mounted spare tire. This reportedly parade/show quality Daytona is located in Carmel, Indiana, and is offered with a clear title in the seller's name.
Finished in champagne with black accent striping along the sides, the exterior features chrome trim including a single exhaust tip, flared fender lines, a quad headlamp grille, and Studebaker badging over the rear fascia. The car has been garage kept over the past four years and the seller reports the bodywork to be free of any notable rust.
Manual steering is equipped to handle a set of thin whitewall tires wrapped over chrome turbine-style wheels with red center caps. Braking is accomplished mechanically as well utilizing 4-wheel drums, while suspension components are factory standard with a leaf-sprung rear end and coil-sprung independent front.
The interior is outfitted in deep red vinyl upholstery over the front and rear bench seats, door and dash panels, and matching carpeting with gray floor mats. Windows are manually cranked and heating controls can be found on the dash. The seller notes the interior to be in excellent condition throughout with the exception of one small crack on the driver's side armrest as shown in the gallery photos.
Instrumentation is framed by a 2-spoke steering wheel and consists of a 120-mph speedometer flanked by dials for fuel level, oil pressure, battery amperage and coolant temperature. The 5-digit odometer is said to read accurately and shows just over 65,500 original miles.
Power is sent to the rear wheels by a 4-barrel carbureted 259ci V8 through a column-shifted automatic transmission which was factory rated at 195hp. The engine is dressed in black with yellow valve covers. The seller reports that the car runs and drives well and without known issues.
The condition of the underside can be viewed above and additional photos of the car have been made available in the gallery.
