When Ford unveiled the Mustang Shelby GT350R in 2015, it called it the "most race-ready road-legal Mustang ever." Compared to the GT350, it had a different suspension with revised spring rates and antiroll bars, a lower ride height, unique alignment settings, revised bushings and jounce bumpers, cross-axis ball joints in the front suspension, recalibrated MagneRide dampers, and standard carbon fiber wheels. An Electronics Package was available and added dual-zone air conditioning, an 8-inch touch screen with navigation, a 7-speaker audio system, turn signal mirrors, and other features. This 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R comes finished in Deep Impact Blue with a black roof and black and red stripes over an Ebony interior. Power comes from a 5.2-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft and is sent through a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 19-inch carbon fiber wheels, Recaro front seats, and the Electronics Package with voice-activated navigation. Available now, this 2K-mile GT350R comes with documentation, a clean CARFAX report, a transferrable extended factory warranty, and a clear title in the seller's name.
As the window sticker shows, the car is finished in Deep Impact Blue. Black and red over-the-top racing stripes start on the lower front fascia, extend up the length of the vented hood, run down the trunk lid, and finish on the rear fascia above the diffuser. The front end is coated with paint protection film and equipped with a Shelby-branded chin splitter and automatic high-intensity discharge projector headlights. Side skirts run the length of the rocker panels. A carbon-fiber wing curves over the trunk lid and the rear end, which features LED taillights with sequential turn signals and quad exhaust finishers. Badging includes red emblems with cobra logos on the front grille and the trunk lid as well as GT350 lettering on the vented front fenders.
Like the rear wing, the 19-inch 7-spoke wheels are made out of carbon fiber. They are surrounded by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and sit in front of 2-piece cross-drilled brake rotors equipped with red Brembo brake calipers.
The cabin is furnished with black carpeting, manual Recaro front bucket seats covered in Ebony cloth and Miko suede with red accent stitching, door panels with coordinating inserts, and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a red center-line stripe at the 12 o'clock position. The driver's seat is adjustable four ways; the front passenger seat is adjustable two ways. More carpeting takes the place of the deleted rear seats.
The dashboard houses a gauge pod with a 9K-rpm tachometer, 200-mph speedometer, multi-information display with a digital odometer showing 2,022 miles, and readouts for the coolant temperature and fuel level. Two auxiliary gauges above the center touchscreen show the oil pressure and oil temperature. Equipment includes power windows, locks, and mirrors; a push-button starter; a heads-up shift light; and a manual parking brake. The optional Electronics Package adds dual-zone climate control, a CD player, and voice-activated navigation to the SYNC 3 infotainment system, which can be controlled through an 8-inch center touchscreen.
The vented hood covers a hand-built 5.2-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft. With a total output of 526 horsepower and 429 lf-ft of torque and a specific output of approximately 102 horsepower per liter, when the engine was introduced, it was "the most power-dense and the most powerful naturally aspirated road-going engine in Ford history," according to the automaker. The "Voodoo" V8 sends its power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a Torsen differential with 3.73 gearing.
The photo gallery to the right shows pictures of the car from multiple angles and includes shots of its suspension and exhaust hardware.
Sale includes service records, receipts, and a transferrable extended factory warranty that lasts until June 30, 2024 or 36,000 miles.
