This 1942 Chevrolet pickup is powered by a Camaro-sourced drivetrain, mating a replacement 350ci V8 with an automatic transmission and add-ons such as an Edelbrock intake manifold, performance headers, and a steel radiator. The seller has owned the pickup for five years and describes it as an older restoration with driver-quality exterior finishes and offering a replacement grille, windshield, front suspension, and power-assisted disc brakes. Finished in red over a reupholstered two-tone gray vinyl interior, this AK-Series pickup is now offered with a clear Idaho title in the seller’s name.
The AK-Series light-duty Chevrolet pickups went on sale in 1941 on the General Motors A-platform which was shared with the Deluxe passenger car. This pickup from the subsequent year was repainted in red during an older restoration and features color-matched running boards and brightwork for the bumpers, grille, trim for the replacement two-piece windshield, dual sideview mirrors, dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that this is an older restoration with paint condition roughly a 7 out of 10, showing a small crack on the right rear fender and other cosmetic blemishes consistent with age.
Color-matched steel wheels are capped by chrome-finished Chevrolet hubcaps and bright trim rings and wrapped in new 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Front suspension architecture was sourced from a Ford Mustang II. Braking is handled by power-operated front disc brakes, and steering is power-assisted as well.
The interior is trimmed with a reupholstered two-tone gray vinyl bench seat with matching lap belts, while the door panels are finished in similar materials. The metal dash was color-matched in red to the exterior, and the darker carpet is described as being worn. A banjo-style steering wheel with a Chevrolet bowtie center logo has been installed.
Instrumentation is held within a billet insert and includes aftermarket gauges with a speedometer accompanied by adjacent readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. A five-digit mechanical odometer clocks mileage, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 was sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro of unknown year, and upgrades to the drivetrain include an aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, custom headers, and a steel radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted automatic transmission.

Thank you for the follow-up. I really appreciate it. One more question...Why are you selling it at this time?
