This rust-free 1963 Buick Riviera has been with the seller for seven years and is powered by a 401ci Nailhead V8 engine backed by the reportedly original 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. Features include a Sonomatic AM radio, chrome bumpers, power brakes, power steering, and a newer muffler and resonators. This metallic light blue first-year Riviera with a blue vinyl interior is available now and comes with a clear title from the seller.
Built by GM as a rival to the Ford Thunderbird, the first-generation Buick Riviera was introduced to the public in October of 1962. This 1963 Riviera is finished in metallic light blue and features grille-mounted headlights, chrome front and rear bumpers, and a slanted rear end. According to the seller, the chrome shows some pitting.
A set of chrome 15-inch Buick wheels are wrapped in whitewall radial tires replaced under current ownership.
The interior features four bucket seats upholstered in blue vinyl, matching interior trim and door panels, and a light blue headliner. A light blue steel dashboard with a dark blue top pad, a center console with an automatic transmission shifter, a ribbed steering column topped with a 2-spoke steering wheel, and a working Sonomatic AM radio complete the interior. The seller notes that one of the buttons on the driver’s seat is loose.
A 140-mph speedometer, clock, fuel gauge, and warning lights for the oil pressure, amps, and coolant temperature are mounted in a ribbed panel behind the steering wheel. According to the seller, all gauges are working properly.
The power is provided by a 401ci Nailhead V8 engine, which was rated at 325 horsepower when new, is backed by a 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. Features include power steering, finned Buick valve covers, and a red closed-element air cleaner. According to the seller, all fluids have been replaced.
This Buick Riviera came from the factory equipped with an independent front suspension, a sway bar, power steering, and a coil spring-mounted rear drive axle. The seller states that during their ownership the resonators and muffler have been replaced with original equipment.
Original valve covers and a MSD distributor are included in the sale.
