Vehicle Story

This 1967 Ford Bronco is reportedly equipped with a rebuilt 302cid V8 connected to a 3-speed manual transmission as well as thousands of dollars of repaired or replacement parts, including its Dana 44 front axle, carburetor, and fuel tank. It is finished in green over a gray interior and equipped with power steering, a RetroSound radio with two speakers, and a heater. Available now, this Bronco pickup has been with its current owner for the past 21 years and comes with service records, an owner's manual, and a clear Minnesota title in the seller's name.

The truck was reportedly repainted before the seller bought it and comes dressed in green with a black cover attached to the roll bar to shade the front seats. The front end features body-color grille and headlight surrounds, a black grille, a black bumper, and a black bull bar with auxiliary lighting. Badging includes "289" and "Bronco" script emblems on the front fenders, and black Smittybilt tube steps are fitted below the rocker panels. In the back, the Bronco is equipped with a spare wheel/tire and a hitch ball mount, and the truck rides on a set of 5-lug wheels wrapped in Wild Country Radial XTX Sport tires.

Photos show two black vertical strips on the driver-side quarter panel and horizontal lines of black material on both rear quarters, which the seller reports are areas where fuel stains were removed and treated with rust inhibitor in preparation for bodywork. In other areas with existing corrosion, the rust was ground off and a protectant was applied. Nicks are noted in the front bumper, bull bar, front end, the base of the windshield on the driver's side, and the roll bar, and patina is evident on the passenger-side door jamb and door latch as well as the rear floor.

The cabin is furnished with buckets up front and a bench in the rear, black aftermarket floor mats, and a metallic dashboard with a black cover. Equipment includes a RetroSound radio, two speakers, and a heavy-duty heater motor and fan. The 3-speed manual shifter was moved from the steering column to the floor, according to the seller.

On the left side of the dashboard is an analog gauge cluster containing a 100-mph speedometer and readouts for the alternator, fuel level, coolant temperature, and more. The steering wheel spokes, a T-shaped transmission shifter handle, and dashboard fascia show signs of patina. The odometer shows under 51k miles, though true chassis mileage is unknown.

Per service records, a rebuilt 302ci V8 with 50K miles was installed in 2015, along with a radiator, wiring harness, alternator, distributor, heater core, blower motor, and additional parts. Repairs to the firewall sheet metal were performed at the same time. Other invoices from 2015 document the addition of new motor mounts, spark plugs, Hedman Elite series headers, an Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor, and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheel wheels via a 3-speed manual gearbox and 2-speed transfer case. Records from 2012 provide evidence that the carburetor, valve covers and gaskets, power brake booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve were replaced. The seller notes that 10-15k miles have been added over the past six years and adds that clutch work may be necessary.

Floor pan rust was ground down and treated with rust inhibitor, and while door frame corrosion is reported to be more than surface-deep, the rockers are solid. Service records from 2012 show that a Dana 44 front axle, a front disc brake kit, and other parts were added. According to 2016 documentation, new front brake calipers, rear brake drums, and other components were installed, while the rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders were replaced in 2017. Handling is managed by power steering.

@BradW – Thank you Darren. It looks like the driver's side door doesn't close properly. If so, how would you recommend correcting it? Thanks again, Brad ...

The door closes and laches properly. But its a fit and finish issue these older cars have. Its a simple adjustment on hinges generally, but since it never really seemed an issue to me i never addresses it. Happy to answer any additional questions.
