This 2005 Morgan Aero 8 was originally sold at the Chariots of Palm Beach dealership in Florida in September of 2005 and has aluminum bodywork finished in Connaught Green and Harvest Moon Beige with a green fabric roof over a Yarwood Light Tan leather interior. Power is provided by a 4.4-liter BMW V8 and delivered to the road through a 6-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. Equipment includes power windows, a Pioneer Premier radio head unit with remote, and air conditioning. Available now, this drop-top Morgan comes with its original purchase order and build ticket, two keys, a car cover, a tool kit, photo and warranty booklets, a clean Carfax report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.
According to the build ticket dated February 02, 2005, this Aero 8 was configured with a Connaught Green body, Harvest Moon Beige fenders, and a green mohair fabric roof. Exterior features include a mesh grille with vertical slats, a mesh lower grille, the headlights from a Volkswagen New Beetle, vented front fenders, and oval-shaped rear dual exhaust outlets. The car rolls on a set of staggered-width 18-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires that measure 225/40ZR18 in the front and 245/40ZR18.
Damage to the left rear corner of the car was repaired in 2013. Before and after photos of the area are in the photo carousel to the right.
The cabin is furnished with green carpeting with green piping, Yarwood Light Tan leather bucket seats, and matching center console and door panels. Wood trim accents the door panels and dashboard, which features an engine-turned front fascia. Equipment includes a push-button starter, power windows, air conditioning, electric windshield defroster, and a Bluetooth-compatible Pioneer Premier head unit.
Instrumentation comes in the form of cream-faced VDO analog gauges that include an 8K-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer with a digital odometer showing 12K miles, and readouts for the fuel level and coolant temperature. According to the seller, the tire pressure gauge was replaced with a smartphone-controlled Bluetooth system.
The twin panels of the butterfly-style hood cover a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter BMW V8 factory rated to produce 325 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. A Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels transmit the engine's output to the road. The CARFAX report shows that an oil and filter change and work to the air conditioning system were performed at Fangio's Auto Clinic of Coral Gables, Florida in April of 2017. Documentation includes an invoice for a hood prop rod kit dated April 6, 2006 and another for a spare tire valve transmitter from August 2, 2007.
Sale includes the original purchase order and build ticket, two keys, a car cover, a tool kit, receipts, and photo and warranty booklets.
Is the car 100% functional? Are there any systems that do not work? Does the car need any servicing at all? Would you feel comfortable driving her as is for about 1200 miles? Thanks
