This 1973 GMC Sierra is a two-wheel-drive model that originally rolled out of GM's Lakewood Assembly plant in Georgia. According to the current owner, it is an older restoration finished in Cataline Blue over a blue interior. Equipment includes power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and reportedly new BFGoodrich tires. Power is provided by a 454cid V8 and routed through an automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Available now, this short-bed Sierra comes with its original build sheet, owner's manual, and warranty paperwork as well as a clear title in the seller's name.
GM's third-generation line of C/K trucks debuted for the 1973 model year. The GMC Sierra light-duty model offered new styling, a larger cab with more greenhouse glass, and a longer wheelbase. As this particular truck's engine bay tag shows, it was originally configured with Catalina Blue paint over a Fleetside body with Soft Ray Glass and a chrome rear bumper. The front end features round headlights, rectangular amber turn signals, a three-chamber grille with "GMC" and "454" badging, and a chrome bumper. Strips of brightwork run along the front and rear fenders and doors, then wrap around the cargo box, which features a carpeted floor liner, a Hard Hat tonneau cover, and a tailgate with a silver accent panel. Additional details include side window visors and badging on the front fenders, cab, and tailgate.
The seller reports the truck is equipped with new tires. The date code on one of the BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires shown in the photo carousel to the right indicates it was manufactured in the 50th week of 2020.
Inside, this Sierra is furnished with blue carpeting and a light blue fabric bench seat with a dark blue surround and a matching trim strip across the seatback. Woodgrain trim is found on the door panels and dashboard, which features a badge that indicates this truck was configured with the Sierra Grande trim (YE9). Equipment includes a foot-activated parking brake, manual windows, a tilt two-spoke wheel connected to power steering and a drop-spindle, an aftermarket radio head unit, and air conditioning with a reportedly new compressor and hoses. In the video below, the seller states it also has a new dryer and has been converted to R134a refrigerant.
A woodgrain trim plate on the dashboard surrounds a set of analog instruments that includes a gear selector window, a 100-mph speedometer, and gauges for the fuel level, amps, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. Per the seller, the truck has 121,463 miles on it.
The 1973 model year also marked the introduction of the optional 454cid V8 to the GMC Sierra. The big-block engine in this truck is connected to a set of Doug's Tri-Y headers and recently received a tune-up, service, and carburetor overhaul, according to the seller. It sends its power to the road through an automatic transmission with a column-mounted shifter and the rear wheels.
In addition to a drop-spindle, this truck is reportedly equipped with power disc brakes and new shocks and springs. Pictures of the truck's underbody are available in the photo carousel. The video below contains exterior, interior, and driving footage.
Sale includes the truck's original build sheet, owner's manual, and warranty paperwork.

Well that defeats the purpose for an auction and doesn't seem very fair now, does it?
