1964 Ford Thunderbird

This 1964 Ford Thunderbird two-door hardtop coupe received a full frame-off restoration and has been driven less than 50 miles since the installation of its original and recently overhauled 390ci V8 fed by a four-barrel carburetor and paired with a 3-speed "Cruise-O-Matic" automatic transmission. Factory equipment includes power steering, windows, brakes, swing-away steering wheel, dual exhaust, an AM/FM radio, and more. Finished in Sunny Yellow over a Silver vinyl interior, this fourth-generation Thunderbird is now offered with restoration receipts and a clear Utah title in the seller’s name.

The Thunderbird received some styling changes in 1964 and brightwork on the exterior includes the grille, bumpers, polished dual exhaust outlets, headlight surrounds, side-view mirrors, and windshield trim. Finished in Sunny Yellow, chrome letters spell out the name Thunderbird across the hood, which features a peaked center scoop with a chrome inlet surround. A pair of horizontal taillights set behind Thunderbird logos and the front fenders feature the name Thunderbird in cursive script. According to the seller, this Thunderbird has been garaged, never been in an accident, and drives straight with no wobbles or shakes.

Wire wheels with Eagle Flight center caps wrapped in whitewall radial tires sit under the open front and skirted rear fenders. Power brakes are fitted standard for the model year. According to the seller, the tires are virtually new and a spare is included with the sale.

The silver interior features vinyl front buckets and "C" shaped rear seats, chrome trim, and a swing-away steering wheel with chrome horn ring. Other features include chrome window cranks and door handles, AM/FM radio with cassette player, heater/defroster, and power seats and windows. An L-shaped center console accented with stainless steel trim runs down between the front seats. According to the seller, there is a slight crack in the dashboard on the passenger side. 

Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, odometer showing 79k actual miles, high-mounted clock, and round gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. 

Power comes from a recently overhauled 390ci V8 which was originally factory rated for 300 horsepower while connected to a "Cruise-O-Matic" automatic transmission. According to the seller, less than 50 miles have been driven on the new engine.
