This 1968 Ford Mustang GT two-door hardtop is a J-code pony car powered by a 347ci stroker V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This Mustang has been outfitted with features including a wood-rimmed steering wheel, fog lamps, embroidered floor mats, and dual polished exhaust outlets. Finished in a resprayed maroon over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered from the selling dealer with a Marti report, receipts and documentation, and a clear Oregon title.
The original Mustang pony car launched in 1964 as a 1965 model and was available as a hardtop, fastback, or convertible, borrowing select parts from the Ford Falcon. A significant redesign was carried out in 1967, increasing the car’s dimensions and incorporating trim changes, new concave taillights, and other cosmetic updates. This GT-trim example from 1968 was resprayed in a deep maroon and shows good panel fitment and gloss. The front and rear chrome bumpers were replaced, and the body features fog lamps, a cowl hood, "347 Stroker" fender badging, slim sideview mirrors, and dual polished exhaust outlets at the rear. The selling dealer has included close-up imaging in the photo carousel of some small paint blemishes.
Polished aluminum 14-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl fold-forward bucket seats that coordinate with the door panels, crack-free dash, center console, headliner, and carpeting. The seats are free of rips or tears, and the cabin is accented with metallic trim as well as Mustang-embroidered floor mats. Additional features include an AM/FM radio, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a footwell-mounted fire extinguisher, and a vinyl-lined trunk floor.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 69K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The stroker 347ci V8 is outfitted with 302-branded valve covers and resides within a detailed and dressed engine bay. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a reportedly built 3-speed automatic transmission.
Pictures showing the underside are available in the photo carousel to the right.
The sale includes build documentation, receipts, and a Marti report.
