This 1937 Cadillac LaSalle two-door luxury sedan benefits from recent brake work, a resealed rear axle, and a largely straight original body with good-condition surrounding brightwork. The flathead 322ci V8 is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission and connected to a six-volt electrical system, transferring power to ground via a set of wide whitewall tires. Finished in black over a reupholstered gray cloth interior, this LaSalle is now offered with service records a clear Nebraska title in the seller’s name.
The LaSalle subsidiary of luxury automobiles was marketed by General Motors’ Cadillac division beginning in 1927. By the mid-1930s, much of the bodywork was shared with other vehicles on the GM B-platform including Fleetwood-produced bodies. This LaSalle two-door sedan from 1937 was resprayed black in the 1980s and the paint finish shows some cracking in the acrylic consistent with age per the seller. The body features a two-piece windshield, and corrosion-free brightwork for the bumpers, guards, grille, headlight rings, side moldings, and other exterior accents.
Black-finished steel wheels with polished covers are mounted to wide whitewall tires. Recent work was performed including replacement of the brake pads and a reseal of the rear axle.
The interior is fitted with reupholstered gray cloth bench seating, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. The dash is adorned with a LaSalle placard, and other cabin features include grab handles for rear passengers, ash trays, and a parcel shelf in the trunk with spare tire storage underneath.
Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads just under 50k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
A center-hinged hood opens on either side to reveal the flathead 322ci V8 is connected to a six-volt electrical system. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission. The seller notes that the car does leak to a small degree.
