This garage-kept 1988 Dodge Aries LE wagon has been in the same family since new and senior-driven for the last 27 years. It comes finished in Ice Blue over a gray cloth and vinyl interior and features a recently replaced front windshield, a luggage rack, front and rear bench seating, an AM/FM radio, and a new air conditioning compressor. Power is provided by a fuel-injected 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that sends its output to the road through a three-speed automatic transmission and the front wheels. Available now, this K-car wagon comes with parts receipts, maintenance records, its original order sheet and window sticker, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Georgia title in the seller's name.
As the original order sheet indicates, the car was sold on November 24, 1987 through the Marietta Dodge dealership in Marietta, Georgia. The window sticker shows it came in Ice Blue (PB1) and equipped with the Wagon Convenience Package (AFW), which added a luggage rack and a washer and wiper for the rear glass. Additional features include a recently replaced windshield, body-color bumpers, black trim around the perimeter of the car, and 14-inch wheels set inside of 185/70/R14 Kelly Edge A/S tires that are reportedly five years old and have less than 2,000 miles on them.
According to the seller, there are minor dings and small areas of rust on the body that were sealed with a preventive coating as well as some oxidized black trim around the headlights and windows. The photo carousel to the right shows patina on the wheels and scratches in the front and rear bumpers.
Inside, this K-car is furnished with patterned gray cloth and vinyl front and flip-down rear bench seats, matching door panels, and gray carpeting. Woodgrain trim is located on the front door panels and dashboard. Equipment includes manual crank windows, a fold-down front armrest, an AM/FM radio, a digital clock, and air conditioning connected to a new compressor and dryer. The seller reports that both mirrors are functional, but that the one on the passenger side was replaced with a new old stock part that sometimes needs a push to be put into the desired position.
Instrumentation comes in the form of an 85-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and battery voltage. Per the seller, the five-digit odometer shows 16,831 miles, but the car has 116,831 miles on it. Pictures in the photo carousel show stains in the front center armrest, parts of the floor carpeting, and the carpeting on the back of the rear seat.
Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that transfers its power to the road via a column-shited TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission and the front wheels. Approximately five months ago, belts and hoses were replaced and an oil change was performed, according to the seller.
Pictures of the car's underbody are in the photo carousel. The video below contains footage showing the exterior, interior, engine bay, lights working, and car being driven.
Sale includes parts receipts, maintenance records, and the car's original order sheet and window sticker.

@KCAR – Thanks DVY for your inquiry and interest. I am out of state now, away from the car and paperwork, and will not be returning home till late tomorrow night, several hours after the listing ends. So, I can not give you the exact date of the last inspection, nor the details on the last brake service. What I can tell you is that the car has been registered in NC for the past 27 years +/- and has always had the required annual state inspections and has never missed a year when it didn't pass inspection. When I brought the car back to GA this past April, I then registered it in our state, so, the car has had a continuous record without interruption of inspections since I first purchased the car in Nov 1987. My brother lives in NC and has always made sure that the car was in excellent, safe, driveable state for our Mom. I can check with him in the morning to see if he can remember exactly when the last brake job was. I can also tell you that I have been driving the car off and on since we brought it back to GA last April and there is absolutely no problem that I see or feel with the brakes. They are tight and do not squeak. Hope this helps. Phil ...
Thank you!
I owned one back in the day, I must say the seats are the most comfortable seats you’ll find in an entry and mid level car, back then and thru present day! I wonder what the reserve is…….
@jaguars – Could you give more detail on the "small areas of rust on the body that were sealed with a preventive coating"? ...
Jaguars, I just went online to look at the auction and again do not see my two earlier replies to you re the rust. I uploaded pictures of the relevant areas and do not see those as well. I can only hope that my reply will appear ,along with the pictures, in time for you to see that the areas of your concern are really minor and should not be a major concern for you. To answer your question of what I used for the protective coating, it was a rust inhibitor called Coroseal. You will have to really look close to see the areas I highlighted in my pictures. Phil
@DVY – When did the car pass emissions inspection last? When were brakes serviced last? Thanks! ...

Jaguars, Not quite sure what happened.... I replied about an hour ago to your question re the rust and posted a picture, only to come back here an hour later and not see my reply to you. So, let me try it again. I enhanced and enlarged a couple of the areas which I have noted rust on the Kcar and will again attempt to upload the photos of the area on the rear hatchback door. As you can see there are some areas on the bottom edge of the door as well as on the hinge which have rust. I took a cotton swab and dabbed a little rust inhibitor called Coroseal which is a great product that I have used before. I also included in the main listing which shows the bottom frame which again just shows normal oxidation . The bottom floor panels, door panels, roof, etc appear to be almost rust free.... at least no noticeable rust. There is a little rust on the edge of the passenger side door and I have included this picture as well.
@Fredrogersrules – I had a white one like this with red interior! I feel this is the coolest car @auto Hunter for sale now. I love it, but then again I’m a grandpa🤣 What is the reserve or is there no reserve? I looked but couldn’t find the fees associated with the auction. Looks like it would be drivable from there to my garage in St. Paul, Mn where it would sit till spring. ...
Fredrogersrules, Thanks for your interest in my Kcar. Grandpa here as well. This is the first and only time I have tried to auction any car on any website and am really not familiar with all the fees associated with this auction, but, I believe they will be answered in the Q & A for this site. As for driving it to St. Paul from GA, that is a long drive and I did in fact drive it a couple of years ago. It's over 1100 miles and a full 2 days of hard driving, mostly thru the mountains as you head from GA thru Tennessee. If it were me, I would gladly pay a trucking company that specializes in hauling cars to transport the car. Phil

Good afternoon Jaguars, I enhanced and enlarged 2 of the areas which show small areas of rust- the hatchback door hinge and the hatchback door bottom edge, and added them to the photos. Both spots can only be seen when the hatchback door is open. I took a cotton swab and touched them with a rust inhibitor product called Coroseal. A proper treatment might involve a little light sanding, then a primer, then a coat of paint. There are no major rust areas such as rusted out floor panels, side panels, roof areas, just the occasional small spots. The underside frame shows no major rust or corrosion as what might occur if the car had ever been driven in snow or salted roads or coastal areas. Hope this helps. Unfortunately, I am out of town now and won't be back till Monday night, otherwise I would have been glad to do a Facetime with you to show you the car up closer. But, I think what I would want to convey to you is that the car is in beautiful shape with only minor repairs needed if you were to try to bring it back to mint condition.
