This rust-free 1985 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL is a grey-market Euro-spec convertible powered by a DOHC 2.8-liter inline-6 engine backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power brakes, power mirrors, power windows, air conditioning, and heated front bucket seats. This Black Pearl (Blauschwarz) SL with a black leather interior is available now and comes with an owner’s manual, a handle to unlock the body-color hardtop, an oil change receipt, and a clear Colorado title in the seller's title.
The exterior is finished in Black Pearl (Blauschwarz). Features include a color-matched removable hardtop, a reportedly unused convertible top, European-spec front and rear bumpers, quad glass headlights, power side mirrors, and Euro-spec taillights. The seller notes that the hand-painted pinstripe is wearing.
A set of steel 15-hole Mercedes wheels with correct center caps are wrapped in radial tires.
The heated front bucket seats, matching rear seat with seat belts for two passengers, and door panels are covered in black leather. Features include black carpeting, carpeted floor mats, a center console with an armrest, power steering and power brakes, air conditioning, woodgrain accents, switchgear labeled in German, and a digital stereo with a cassette player. The seller notes that the leather on the driver’s seat shows signs of wear.
A 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and economy gauge are located in a black panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 107,167 miles, which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.
Power is provided by a DOHC 2.8-liter inline-6 engine backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. All factory hardware and emissions equipment are in place. The seller notes that the gasket seal will need attention.
This rear-wheel-drive Mercedes is equipped with independent front and rear suspensions. Stopping is handled by power brakes. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.
The CARFAX report starts in December of 1999 and shows an accident-free history in Colorado. An owner’s manual, a handle to unlock the body-color hardtop, and an oil change receipt are included with the sale of the vehicle.
