Vehicle Story

This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 was built on June 18, 1970 in Ford's Metuchen, New Jersey factory and sold through the Westwood Ford dealership in the same state. It was repainted under previous ownership and comes finished in Lime Metallic Green with black stripes over an Ivy green vinyl interior equipped with front bucket seats, manual crank windows, and a Hurst manual shifter. As the name indicates, power comes from a 302ci V8 equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor and gets delivered to the road through a Traction-Lok differential with 3.50:1 gearing and the rear wheels. Currently on display at the Automotive Addiction museum in Sandy, Utah, this final-year first-generation Boss 302 is available now with its uninstalled original tires, a Marti Report, and a clear title.

Following a major cosmetic revision for the 1969 model year, the 1970 Ford Mustang was restyled for 1970. Instead of four headlights, it came equipped with two 7-inch round headlights set at the outboard sides of its grille, faux intakes where the additional headlights used to be, and a flat rear fascia. This particular 1970 Boss 302's SportsRoof body was repainted under previous ownership in Lime Metallic Green, which is accented with flat black stripes on the hood, front fenders, doors, and rear fenders. It features chrome bumpers, a black front air dam, black sport slats over its rear windshield, a black wing, and a black rear fascia panel.

The car rides on its reportedly original 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels and a set of Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

The interior is furnished with green bucket front and rear seats, color-coordinated door panels, a two-tone black and green steering wheel connected to quick-ratio steering, and a matching dashboard. Equipment includes a foot-activated parking brake, manual crank windows, and a floor-mounted Hurst manual shifter.

The left side of the dual-cowl dashboard contains the main instrumentation, which includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the alternator, fuel level, and coolant temperature. A reading of 62,242 miles is shown on the odometer, which the seller reports to be accurate.

When new, the 302ci V8 under the hood came with a 4-barrel carburetor and 290 horsepower. It features an Autolite battery, a blue block, and an air cleaner housing with a "Ford 302-4V Boss" label. It delivers its output to the road through a 4-speed manual transmission, a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential with 3.50:1 gearing, and the rear wheels.

The video below shows an exterior walkaround of the vehicle while it idles. Sale includes the car's uninstalled original tires and a Marti Report.

@cobra427428 – Had this exact color combination but no rear window slats or rear wing. It was a 2 option car- 4:30 locker & AM/FM radio. Sorry I ever sold it! ...

Ahhh. I bet! I'm hearing that myself as I'll probably never find a replacement like this one.
