This 1956 Chevrolet 210 two-door sedan boasts a performance-upgraded Chrysler drivetrain, harnessing power from a rebuilt “Wedge” 426ci V8 paired with a rebuilt A-833 4-speed manual transmission connected to a limited-slip rear differential. Custom treatment extends to the body, interior, and underside with modified exterior brightwork, late-model bucket seats, a Vintage Air HVAC system, CalTracs traction bars, front disc brakes, and a 3” custom exhaust system with electric cutouts. Finished in matte black over a black cloth interior, this straight 210 is now offered with a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The tri-five Chevrolet full-size car lineup adopted what became known as shoebox design language beginning in 1955, with trim changes applied in 1956 that added a sweeping side molding and a refreshed look to the front clip. This 210-series two-door sedan was repainted matte black under current ownership, featuring straight body panels and a custom look thanks to deletion of brightwork for the window trim and the hood ornament. The remaining chrome is in good condition, with replacement bumpers and a custom license plate bracket. Lighting is upgraded to LED, and the sideview mirrors feature inset directional arrows. The glass is all-new and the wing windows in the doors have been removed. The seller notes that there is a paint chip on the passenger side front fender as shown in the photo carousel, and panel gap fitment overall is not show-level but is presentable as a driver.
Polished aluminum 15” American Racing five-spoke wheels are wrapped in newer Cooper Trendsetter SE blackwall tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and stabilization is assisted by CalTracs traction bars.
The interior received black cloth front buckets from a 2003 Chevrolet pickup, further accented in white piping and matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. The rear seat is original but has been recovered in the same fabric, and amenities include HVAC from Vintage Air, an analog clock, Streetmachine badging, and a leather-wrapped custom steering wheel.
Aftermarket instrumentation includes a central 120-mph speedometer surrounded by an 8k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 853 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The Chrysler 426ci Wedge V8 was sourced from a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere and reportedly underwent a mechanical overhaul by a specialty facility in Tennessee. Upgrades include a performance camshaft, an aluminum radiator, MSD ignition, a hydraulic clutch and throwout bearing, a Holley electric fuel pump, a new trunk-mounted battery, and replacement American Autowire wiring throughout. The exhaust system uses 3” piping from the headers to the rear, further equipped with electrically-operated cutouts and dual outlets. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted rebuilt Chrysler A-833 4-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip Ford 9” rear end with 350 gears. Both the transmission and rear end received new seals and bearings as part of recent maintenance per the seller.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

@2006derald – Do the doors have windows installed ? ...
Yes both door have glass installed. All the glass in the car is brand new. Windshield, back window and all four side windows are new and work properly. The only glass removed was the wing windows. This was only done because in my opinion I thought it looked better. The day I took the pictures was a very nice day and I never thought to raise the windows, my bad. They are there and work well.
Do the doors have windows installed ?
@Ledbetter@17 – Eight Questions: 1. No windshield wipers in photo. Does the vehicle have windshield wipers, if so do they function, and why aren't they on the vehicle? 2. No radio/stereo in picture. Does the vehicle have radio/stereo/cd? 3. Photo shows no windows, driver or passenger. Have full windows been installed, since the small ones were removed? If so, are they functional? 4. What condition is the throw out bearing and clutch in? Does it shift smoothly? 5. Has the front end been aligned? 6. Have the tires been balanced? 7. Does the vehicle run and drive smooth at 70 mph on the interstate? 8. Has the vehicle been wrecked? If so, has the frame ever been bent? Fred Ledbetter [email protected] ...
Yes there are windshield wipers and they function. They are in the trunk, rain x works better and looks better. The windows have not been removed just rolled down, it was a nice day. All of the glass in the car is brand new. The tires are brand new, about 850 miles on them and they were balanced when installed. The car was built in 1956 delete radio and I decided to leave it that way. I just made a nicer, in my opinion radio delete plate with louvers. The car drives smooth at 70 mph. The front end was aligned when first done. The clutch and throwout bearing are brand new. The car has never been wrecked, no issues with the frame.
