Vehicle Story

This 1977 MGB Mark IV Roadster is finished in burgundy with a black soft top over a black interior. Power comes from a 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Recently refinished, the MGB comes with a tonneau cover and cockpit cover. It also features a roll-bar, new tires and has been tuned-up in anticipation of the sale. This MGB is now offered on a clear Wisconsin title.

Recently refinished in burgundy, the exterior features dual black side stripes with MGB lettering on the quarters along with black rubber impact bumpers both front and rear. A luggage rack is mounted to the trunk lid and as well as a roll bar behind the seats. Brightwork includes the windshield surround, dual side-view mirrors, side body moldings, headlight rings, and door handles. The headlights and tail lights function with no issue, however, the reserve lights are currently inoperable. The black convertible top shows no signs of wear along with the tonneau cover.

Rostyle wheels are finished in silver and black, mounted on new 175/70-14 radial tires. Standard for the 1977 model year, power-assisted disc brakes were fitted to the front wheels with 2-piston calipers while drum brakes were fitted to the rear. Front and rear sway bars were also standard features for the 1977 model year.

Interior equipment features black vinyl bucket seats along with matching door panels, carpeting, dashboard, and console. An aftermarket AM/FM radio was installed in the original factory location, slotted just above the controls for the heating and air conditioning system. Additional aftermarket equipment includes door-mounted speakers, shift knob, and pedal covers

The car retains the factory 4-spoke steering wheel, which sits in front of the gauge cluster consisting of a 7k-rpm tachometer and a 120-mph speedometer. Various indicator lights are featured between the main gauges, with additional analog gauges to both sides providing readouts for water temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and clock. All gauges are in working order, however, the horn is currently inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, 30 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine is original to the car and was rated at 62 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine features a dual overhead valve design, fitted with a Zenith 175CD5T single-barrel carburetor, and retains the factory emissions equipment and smog pump. The 4-speed manual transmission features synchromesh gears transfers power to the rear wheels

Undercarriage photos are shown in the gallery below. The MG has resided in Wisconsin since sold new, the selling dealer states it was never driven during the winter months or during bad weather and always garage kept.
