Finished in Maroon Metallic over a black vinyl interior, this 1966 Ford Fairlane GT convertible is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with an aftermarket TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. It features power front disc brakes, power steering, a tubular A-arm front suspension with coilovers, and rack and pinion steering. Originally produced at Ford’s Lorain, Ohio factory, drop-top is available from the selling dealer with a clear Pennsylvania title.
Ford manufactured the Fairlane from 1955 until 1970 and started offering the GT model in 1966. This example of the fifth-generation model comes finished in Maroon Metallic and features a black soft top with a glass rear window. Features include front and rear chrome bumpers, chrome hood accents with "390" emblems, and stacked dual headlights with chrome bezels. White driver- and passenger-side stripes run across the lower body and chrome "Fairlane" lettering is located on the rear fenders. The chrome rear bumper sits below the chrome Fairlane GT trunk emblem and "Ford" lettering.
The car sits atop chrome Cragar S/S wheels and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires featuring raised white lettering. Per the selling dealer, the car rides and handles better than stock thanks to the Tom Pfau-installed tubular A-arms, coilover front suspension, and rack and pinion steering.
The black vinyl interior features front bucket seats, door panels with metallic inlays, matching carpet with embroidered floor mats, a center console with a manual Hurst shifter, a three-spoke Grant steering wheel connected to power steering, and a Ford-branded radio mounted in the dashboard.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and a clock. An aftermarket AutoMeter 10k-rpm tachometer is mounted on the steering column. The five-digit odometer indicates 16,159 miles, but true mileage is unknown.
Under the hood is a 390ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors and a polished intake. An aftermarket TREMEC five-speed manual transmission transmits the engine's output to the rear wheels.
The factory front drum brakes were upgraded to power disc brakes. Additional images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
The selling dealer charges a $150 document fee. A start-up and walkaround video is available for viewing below.
