Vehicle Story

This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 received a frame-off restoration and is powered by a Ford 428ci V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. The suspension was customized with a Mustang II front clip and a four-link rear suspension with a channel rear end. A black cherry pearl exterior is complemented by a wood truck bed and LED headlights with built-in turn signals. The custom interior is highlighted by heated bucket seats, Vintage Air air conditioning, and power windows. This custom Chevy pickup is being offered with a clear Texas title in the seller's name and was originally assembled at General Motors' Tarrytown, New York factory.

It was painted two-years ago and finished in three-stage black cherry pearl that looks black at night and deep maroon during the day. To further maintain the custom look LED headlights with built-in turn signals were installed and the wing vents were removed. The chrome front grille complements the black cherry pearl finish, and chrome front and rear bumpers complete the sleek package. Out back the wood bed features metal strips and the chrome fuel tank filler cap.

It rides on five-spoke chrome wheel and the seller advises that the wheels and tires are less than one month old. A custom suspension with a Mustang II front clip and four-link C-channel rear end was installed. Stopping power was upgraded with disc brakes.

The custom interior features heated gray bucket seats and a center fold down console with a pair of cup holders. On the black and chrome dashboard a pair of Dakota Digital gauges greet the driver and an Ididit chrome steering column is topped by a custom three-spoke steering wheel. It features power steering, power windows and a Vintage Air air conditioning unit keeps the driver and passenger cool.

A pair of Dakota Digital gauges with chrome trimmed bezels are mounted in the black dashboard. A tachometer with oil pressure and water temperature is to the left of the steering wheel and to the right a speedometer with a fuel gauge and voltmeter provides the instrumentation. The true mileage of the vehicle's chassis is unknown and the seller states the rebuilt engine has 500 miles and the truck has been driven 50 miles since the completion of the frame-off restoration.

Under the hood is a rebuilt Ford 428ci V8 engine that's paired with a floor-shifted automatic transmission. The black cherry pearl exterior carries over to the engine bay and an aluminum radiator complements the chrome valve covers and Edelbrock air filter cover.

The gas tank was moved to underneath the bed.

The seller has provided a pair of videos showing the truck idling and the exterior.

Less then 2 hours to go, this truck was built as a labor of love. It was never built to sell, it was my keeper. I was involved in auto accident a few years back resulting in Back Fusion Surgery long story short, the truck and my back do not do well together. It is the only reason you see this beauty up for sell.
