This 1998 Mercedes-Benz CL500 has driven 59,170 miles since new and is powered by an M119 5.0-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed 5G-TRONIC automatic transmission. This pillarless coupe was originally sold in Pompano Beach, Florida where it was maintained until being relocated to California in 2013. Luxury amenities include soundproof glass, a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and burled walnut trim. Finished in Glacier White over a Parchment Nappa leather interior, this W140 CL500 is now offered with a CARFAX report, two keys, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
Sharing equipment with the four-door W140 S-Class sedan, the CL500 two-door variant was launched in 1996 with a hardtop roofline. Comfort and convenience equipment was similar across both models, including double-paned soundproof glass, retractable sideview mirrors, and soft-closing action for the doors and trunk lid. This CL500 from 1998 is painted Glacier White (143) and dressed with color-matched bumpers and sideview mirrors, contrasting black door handles, and chrome badging. The nose features fog lamps in the lower air dam as well as high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with wipers.
16" Machined aluminum six-spoke wheels are wrapped in 235/60 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires. The shock absorbers were replaced within the last two years and the suspension itself is self-leveling, comprised of an independent double-wishbone front and a five-arm multi-link rear. Braking is managed by 4-wheel anti-lock discs and handling is eased thanks to a traction-control system and automatic slip control.
The interior provides heated Parchment Nappa leather seats with 12-way power adjustment and memory positioning for the driver, along with matching door panels, center armrest, dash, and carpeting. The cabin is dressed in gloss burled walnut trim which surrounds the dash, console, and door panels. Additional amenities include power windows, power door locks, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, a powered rear sunshade, automatic windshield wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power-operated sunroof. Safety equipment is provided by side airbags and occupancy sensors.
Instrumentation is shared via a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, instantaneous fuel economy, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer reads 59,171 miles, which is a true reading per the seller and is supported by the CARFAX report.
The M119 5.0-liter V8 carried a factory rating of 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque when new and it is mated to a a 5-speed 5G-TRONIC automatic transmission operated by a column-mounted shifter. Maintenance has included replacement of the valve cover gasket and an oil and filter change in 2014, and additional work was carried out at Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek in San Jose, California in 2013. The battery was also replaced approximately two years ago.
The CARFAX report shows a history of damage to the rear of the vehicle in 2003 and indicates that it passed a California emissions inspection in January 2021. The sale includes two factory key fobs and factory floor mats.

@Oscar5512 – What was the Full Extent of the Rear damage that this car received in 2003 ? How much of the car was Repainted ? Is there any Cancer showing on the Outside or Inside of this vehicles body or on the underneath Frame ? Was there only One listing of damage to this vehicle on CARFAX ? Thank You ...
