This hand-built 1985 Maserati Quattroporte four-door luxury saloon was assembled in November 1984 in Modena, Italy and has been driven just 31,683 miles since then. Under the hood is a DOHC Tipo AM330/49 4.9-liter V8 that is coupled with a Chrysler A727 3-speed automatic transmission. This Quattroporte retains its luxury amenities including power convenience options, briarwood trim, and padded leather upholstery. Finished in Dark Aquamarine over a saddle leather interior, this third-generation Quattroporte is now offered with a clean Carfax report and a clear California title.
The Quattroporte model debuted as a full-size luxury car in 1963 with initial styling by coachbuilder Pietro Frua. Subsequent generations debuted for 1976 and 1979, the latter designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. This 1985 Quattroporte III wears Deep Aquamarine paint and features black-finished bumpers, quad headlights, bright window trim, and dual exhaust outlets at the rear.
Silver 15-inch Campagnolo wheels are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering. The trunk contains a matching spare.
The interior is equipped with saddle leather seating matched to the center console, door panels, and dash, all complemented with darker brown carpeting topped by Maserati-branded floor mats in the front row. Cabin amenities include power front buckets; briarwood trim on the dash, console, and door panels; power windows; air conditioning; and a newer aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo. A Blaupunkt equalizer is located inside the center console.
Instrumentation consists of a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and oil temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 31,683 miles.
The 4.9-liter DOHC V8 is equipped with four carburetors and was factory rated at 280 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 3-speed Chrysler A727 automatic transmission.
The Carfax report shows a history free of accidents and damage, with the first record appearing in 1992 in Palmdale, California. The car failed a California emissions inspection in April of 2010 but passed the test the following day. The most recent smog check on record was performed in January of 2020.
