Vehicle Story

This 1986 GMC K1500 is a four-wheel-drive half-ton pickup that has been with the same owner for the last 15 years. It comes finished in newer red paint applied approximately five years ago over a refurbished red cloth interior that features a new heater motor, manual windows, a tilt column-mounted shifter, and a floor-mounted transfer case lever. Equipment includes an aftermarket Chevrolet 350ci V8 that channels its power through a recently rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, a recently rebuilt transfer case, and new Warn hubs. Available now, this third-generation C/K pickup comes with three keys; an owner's manual; receipts; new in box, chrome Rally wheel trim rings, new chrome mirrors, new chrome metal mudguards, and new chrome wheel arch trim; a clean Carfax report; and a clear title in the seller's name.

The current owner reports that they repaired areas of rust on cab corners before repainting the truck red approximately five years ago. Features include a three-section grille, stacked square headlights, and a black bed liner. Brightwork is located on the front and rear bumpers, cab trim, side mirror housings, door handles, lower body and rocker panel trim strips, rear stone guards, and tailgate applique. According to the seller, the paint does have some road wear/chips as it was a driver and there is a dimple in the right side of the bed.

The truck rolls on Rally wheels set inside of tires reported to be in fair condition. The video below shows an exterior walkaround of the vehicle.

The refurbished interior features red carpeting, a red cloth bench seat, red door panels, and a blue/grey dashboard. Metallic accents are located on the door panels and dashboard. The list of equipment includes a new heater motor, manual windows, a two-spoke steering wheel, a tilt column-mounted automatic shifter, and a floor-mounted transfer case lever. According to the seller, the AC has not been charged in three years and the driver-side window's track needs to be adjusted.

Instrumentation comes in the form of a gear selection window, an 85-mph speedometer, and gauges for the fuel level, battery voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.

Inside of the engine bay is a Chevrolet 350ci V8 that reportedly has fewer than 80K miles on it and was changed at 100,000 miles at odometer rollover. It routes its power through a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt approximately 6 months ago and has only accrued 50 miles, a recently rebuilt transfer case, new Warn locking hubs installed under current ownership, and a rear end that was rebuilt within the last few years. An oil change and tune-up were performed six months ago.

Other new components include the front wheel bearings. Additional photos of the underbody are available in the picture gallery.

The Carfax report contains an entry for Potential Odometer Rollover dated December 4, 2000 and one for Mileage Inconsistency dated January 25, 2017. Three keys; an owner's manual; receipts; new chrome Rally wheel trim rings, new chrome mirrors, new chrome metal mudguards, and new chrome wheel arch trim pieces come with the sale of the truck.

Truck does have power steering and power brakes! The power steering is likely the most responsive of any truck I’ve driven and can the wheel can be turned from hard left to hard right with two fingers. Definitely NOT the feeling of the old vehicle power assist steering! Also front axle has the heavier duty option of dual shocks on both sides
