This 1978 MG MGB convertible is finished in Sun Kissed Orange over a Black interior with a pair of vinyl bucket seats. Under the hood is the original 1.8-liter inline-four engine that was upgraded from the original single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor to a Weber 2-barrel downdraught carburetor. A four-speed manual transmission ties the British roadster’s drivetrain together. The seller owned this MGB for less than a year, but it received a nice restoration in 2014, including new exterior paint, a new fuel tank and sending unit. Appointments include wood interior trim, front disc brakes, factory MGB steel wheels, and a Clarion multi-speaker AM/FM/CD sound system. This MGB is now offered with receipts and a clear North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
Manufactured in England by the British Motor Corporation, the MGB model launched in 1962 and had a production run through 1980. This 1978 mostly original MGB was repainted Sun Kissed Orange in 2014, and brightwork on the headlight surrounds, window trim, side moldings, and luggage rack is noted to be in good condition. The seller notes that there are very small, minor niks below and to side of door, but the convertible top, top frame and tonneau boot are all in great condition.
Factory 14-inch Rostyle wheels with MG center caps are wrapped in Kumho 175/70 Power Star 758 tires. Stopping power comes from 11-inch disc brakes upfront, drums in the rear and dual master cylinders.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl with matching carpets and door panels. A black center console houses the gear shift lever, which is topped with a wood knob. A three-spoke wood-trimmed steering wheel with an MG center cap complements the black dashboard.
This MGB has a black dashboard with a 120-mph speedometer, five-digit odometer, and trip odometer. The odometer reads 65,045 miles and while the seller believes the total to be accurate, true chassis mileage is unknown. The gauge cluster also features a tachometer, clock, and fuel, oil pressure, and coolant temperature gauges.
Under the hood is the original 1.8-liter inline-four engine that was rated at 85 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque when new. The original single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor has been upgraded to a Weber 2-barrel downdraught carburetor. A new fuel pump and sending unit was installed in 2014 and the engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a stainless-steel exhaust. A oil change was completed on the car in August of 2021.
Additional images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
The selling dealer notes that there is a $125 doc fee in addition to the purchase price of the car.

@Tydatty – Why are you selling after only one year? ...
Excellent question ;) Because that's what we do...we are a consignment dealership, but if I could keep them all I absolutely would do it! This one in particular!!
