1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe

This 1936 Ford 5-window coupe has received mechanical improvements and mild modifications and is powered by a Ford flathead V8 paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with floor shift. Maintenance performed within the last year consists of a rebuilt steering box and installation of a new 12-volt Diehard deep cycle battery with master cut-off switch, tie rod and tie rod ends, drag link, front wheel cylinders, master cylinder, electric fan, and "quiet" electric fuel pump. Finished in an older lacquer over tan cloth, this Ford is offered with a clear North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Rebuilt with the traditional rear fender skirt and running boards, this Ford 5-window coupe features a color-matching spare tire cover housing a full-size spare, and accompanying brightwork for the front and rear bumpers, door handles, sideview mirrors, ornament affixed on the hood, and fuel cap. The lacquer-based paint has a beautiful patina, and other than some visible thinner areas, the seller describes the paint as being in good condition with no excessive blemishes. A previous owner removed one or two leaves out of the rear springs to give it the lowered rear end profile.

Steel wheels with chrome center caps are wrapped in wide whitewall radial tires. According to the seller, the previous owner put in hydraulic brakes. 

The interior is fitted with what is reported to be its original tan cloth bench seat with matching door panels and a contrasting black rubber floor pad. The previous owner added woodgrain to the dash and doors. Equipment includes manual windows, a rear rumble seat, a three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel, and a floor-mounted manual shifter.

Instrumentation is rendered in the form of aftermarket gauges for speed, fuel level, and other vehicle systems. The odometer reads approximately 155 miles, though true chassis mileage is unknown.

According to the seller, the vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition, the engine compartment is exceptionally clean, and recent maintenance included a steering box rebuild and installation of a new tie rod, tie rod ends, drag link, front wheel cylinders, and master cylinder. Other additions consist of an aftermarket radiator, a new electric fan, an electric fuel pump, a new 12-volt Diehard deep cycle battery with a master battery cut-off switch.
