This 2003 Porsche Boxster is finished in Seal Grey Metallic with black power soft top over a black interior. Powered by a 2.7-liter flat-6 mid-mounted M96 engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Purchased new from Porsche Gold Coast of Jericho, NY, this 986 Boxster spent time in New York, South Carolina, and Indiana before being acquired by the selling dealer in Connecticut. Now showing 65K miles, factory literature and manuals are included in the sale, along with a clean CARFAX and on a clean title in the selling dealers name.
Finished in Seal Grey Metallic, the power black canvas soft top is original and operates with no issues. The Boxster was refreshed for the 2003 model year, with updates including refaced front and rear bumpers, revised head and taillights, and glass rear window in lieu of plastic. All components are said to be original and operational. Functional side vents provide cooling for the mid-mounted engine and are positioned on the bodysides behind both doors.
17" Porsche factory Boxster S II wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 205/50 in the front and 255/40 on the rear. This Boxster rides on independent suspension with anti-roll bars front and rear, along with Porsche Stability Management. Braking is handled by four-wheel vented discs with four-piston calipers all around.
The interior is finished in black, along with matching dashboard, door panels, center console, and carperting. The car retains the factory floormats which are included in the sale. Additional interior features include air conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD-player and dual airbags for both driver and passenger.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped wheel features a Porsche crest and sits in front of the analog gauge cluster, which includes a 150-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm central mounted tachometer, as well as fuel and temperature gauges. The six-digit digital odometer reads 65k-miles, 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The mid-mounted M96 DOHC 24-valve 2.7-liter inline-6 was rated 225 horsepower and 192 lb-ft. when new, sending power to the rear wheels through an optional 5-speed manual transmission. In 2003 Porsche's VarioCam variable-valve-timing mechanism was added to the Boxster lineup, increasing both power and efficiency. The most recent service took place at Danbury Porsche in May 2019 and July 2020 and included brake service and recommended maintenance.
