1972 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible was restored under previous ownership and comes with a reportedly numbers-matching 350ci V8 engine and Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes power steering, Firestone tires on Rally wheels, a dual exhaust system, and a positraction rear end. Finished in red with a black fabric convertible top over a red vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with restoration photographs, a removable black hardtop with a stand, and a clear title.

For the 1968 model year, the Corvette sports car was remodeled after the Mako Shark II concept. In 1970, further changes were made to incorporate an egg-crate grille, flared fenders, and front directional lamps. This Corvette convertible from 1972 received a documented restoration in approximately 1999 and was repainted red. It comes equipped with a retractable black cloth top as well as a black vinyl hardtop with a stand. Small blemishes in the paint are noted in the photo carousel. Body features include pop-up headlamps, chrome bumpers, vented front fenders, flush door handles, and a driver-side mirror. The seller notes that the car is missing a chrome bezel around the driver-side exhaust finisher.

Silver 15-inch Rally wheels with polished trim rings are mounted inside of Firestone Firehawk raised-white-letter tires. Driving is assisted by power steering.

The two-seat interior is fitted with red vinyl high-back bucket seats and a color-keyed center console, dash, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a push-button radio and dash-mounted storage pockets. There are areas of cosmetic wear as shown in the photo carousel. The selling dealer states that the passenger-side door lock knob is missing.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, and readouts in the center stack for the analog clock, oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 88K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The reportedly numbers-matching 350ci V8 and Muncie 4-speed manual transmission received maintenance in the form of a replaced crankshaft, flywheel, bell housing, clutch fork, dust cover, and linkage in recent years. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a positraction rear axle.
