Vehicle Story

This custom 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster Coupe features front and rear air suspension, air conditioning, a fuel-injected 350ci V8, an automatic transmission, a smoothed frame, a backup camera, and an electrically operated hood. It comes refinished in PPG Green Candy with a two-tone cream and taupe leather interior and is available now with a build sheet, an appraisal, and a clear title.

The body is finished in PPG Green Candy. The door and trunk handles and all trim except the beltline accents have been shaved and the bumpers have been deleted. Molded front and rear roll pans have been added. Other custom features include a color-matched windshield visor over a one-piece windshield, color-keyed mirror caps with integrated turn signals, frenched headlights with LED bulbs, and front turn signals mounted low in the chrome grille. The rear fenders have been welded to the body and come equipped with clear flush-mounted LED taillights.

The car rolls on polished aluminum wheels with low-profile tires. According to the seller, the two front tires have been replaced in the past two years.

Custom cream and taupe two-tone Italian leather covers the bucket seats and extends to the doors and rear panel. The floor is covered with green wool carpet accented with taupe binding.  A custom center console located between the seats houses two cup holders, power window switches, air ride suspension controls, and a custom stereo head unit with front speakers that are located in the door panels.

The dashboard with Carpathian burl inlay features an AutoMeter six-gauge set that includes a 120-mph speedometer with a five-digit odometer reading 3,600 miles, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and fuel, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature readouts. Under the dash, controls for the Vintage Air system, ignition, power windshield wipers, and headlights are surrounded by woodgrain. Dash wiring and components are hidden by a custom filler panel. A chrome tilt steering column with a shift lever and a gear indicator is fitted with a three-spoke polished steering wheel. Additional custom features include polished billet aluminum turn signal, tilt, and shift levers along with metal and rubber pedals and a backup camera.

Under the custom three-point electric-lift hood is a 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine mated to a 700R4 transmission with a custom driveshaft. The engine features a Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine pully accessory drive system, Edlebrock Pro-Flo fuel injection, Vintage Air climate control, and block-hugger headers. A Walker four-core radiator is cooled by a Zirgo electric fan. The inner fenders, radiator top, and smoothed cowl adorned with a Green Hornet logo are refinished in Green Candy.

The seller states the stock frame is smoothed and a removable transmission crossmember and a dual-circuit power brake booster are installed. The front suspension consists of a crossmember with tubular upper and lower A-arms, vented front disc brakes, Good Year seven-inch-lift airbags, and a MacGyver’s Mustang II rack and pinion power steering unit. The Dutchman nine-inch Ford rear housing has 31-spline axles and a limited-slip differential with 3:73:1 gearing. Additional hardware includes a shock mount crossmember and a TCI triangulated four-link rear suspension with RideTech Shockwave 9000 adjustable air springs. A remote rear-mounted cut-off switch and battery terminal access have been added. The entire dual exhaust system is ceramic coated and exits at the rear roll pan. The custom-built aluminum fuel tank can be filled through a round custom gas door on the passenger-side quarter panel. According to the seller, since 2020, new rear airbags, a steel braided fuel line, and other parts have been installed.

The sale includes an appraisal and a build sheet.
