This 1967 Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle has driven 500 miles since a motor rebuild and features reupholstered vinyl seating, an Alpine radio, and powder-coated wheels. Power comes from a rear-mounted, air-cooled 1,835cc flat-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle that was equipped with an oversized carburetor as part of recent drivetrain work. Finished in navy blue over a two-tone blue and white vinyl interior, this Beetle is now offered by the selling dealer with a year-of-manufacture California license plate and a clear California title.
The Beetle model, otherwise known as the Volkswagen Type 1, came to market as a two-door, five-seat, rear-engined economy car. Production continued with moderate changes through many decades and in various parts of the world. This Beetle from 1967 was repainted navy blue accented with brightwork including the front and rear bumpers with overriders, headlight rings, window trim, and other parts. The exterior features pop-out windows, rubber running boards, and polished dual exhaust outlets at the rear.
White powder-coated steel wheels with chrome dog-dish hubcaps are wrapped in reportedly new tires.
The interior features reupholstered blue and white vinyl seating with blue perimeter piping and coordinating door panels, metal dash, and carpeting. Equipment includes a passenger-side grab handle, a glove compartment, door-mounted map pockets, and a Bluetooth-compatible Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo with rear speakers.
Instrumentation includes a 90-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 687 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rear-mounted, air-cooled 1,835cc flat-4 was built by Car Craft using a stock stroke with a 92mm bore and an oversized carburetor. Since being rebuilt, the engine has accrued approximately 500 miles. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual gearbox.
The sale includes a black year-of-manufacture California license plate. The seller has provided an exterior and interior video below.
