This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe is an autocross build equipped with Borgeson quick-ratio power steering and a RideTech suspension setup that includes TruTurn control arms in the front, a StrongArm system in the rear, and HQ Series coilover shocks and a MuscleBar sway bar at both ends. A set of 18-inch Forgeline wheels and 315/30R18 BFGoodrich tires connect it to the pavement and Baer Pro+ 14-inch rotors with six-piston calipers bring it to a stop. Power comes from an LS3 6.2-liter V8 equipped with a COMP Cams camshaft and a 102-mm throttle body and is transferred through a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed manual gearbox and a 3.70:1 rear end. The cockpit features Braum Racing Alpha-X bucket seats and gauges from Classic Instruments. Finished in White Pearl over a black leatherette interior, this customized Corvette is available from a dealer now and comes with documentation, an owner's manual, and a clear title.
The bodywork is finished in PPG White Pearl accented with a pair of matte red hash marks on the front driver-side fender, chrome bumpers, and brightwork trim. According to the selling dealer, the grille and domed hood are stock. Other features include pop-up headlights and LED taillights from Zip Corvette.
A set of two-tone 18" X 10" Forgeline MD3P-series wheels and 315/30R18 BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires connect the car with the road.
The cabin is furnished with black carpeting, leatherette Braum Racing Alpha-X bucket seats, door panels, and dashboard. Features include a harness for the driver, a three-spoke Grant steering wheel connected to Borgeson quick-ratio power steering, a manual shifter from Silver Sport Transmissions, a center console with a padded armrest, and a Sony audio head unit.
The stock instrumentation has been replaced with AutoCross-series gauges with yellow accents from Classic Instruments. These include a 10K-rpm tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, a clock, and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The odometer shows 12K miles, but true mileage is unknown.
Under the hood is a crate engine LS3 6.2-liter V8 fitted with a nodular iron crankshaft, aluminum heads, powdered metal rods, hypereutectic aluminum pistons, a COMP Cams camshaft, a Holley Sniper EFI intake manifold, and a 102-mm throttle body. According to the selling dealer, the engine produces 458 horsepower at 6,400 rpm at the wheels. The starter from a C5 Corvette is used for firing the engine up and exhaust is pumped out through Stainless Headers headers, a three-inch steel exhaust system, and Borla ProXS mufflers. A Tremec TKO 600 5-speed manual gearbox and a 3.70:1 rear end deliver power to the road.
This Corvette is equipped with RideTech suspension hardware that includes TruTurn control arms and spindles in the front, a StrongArm system in the rear, a MuscleBar sway bar at both ends, and HQ Series coilovers all around. In addition, the back end features a tubular rear cross-member. Braking is handled by a Baer dual-feed master cylinder with power assist and Baer Pro+ 14-inch rotors with six-piston calipers.
A binder full of this build's documentation and an owner's manual is included with the sale of the car.
