This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in Fawn Beige over a black vinyl interior. Powered by a 350ci V8 crate engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. Maintenance performed in anticipation of sale is said to include an oil and filter change, new spark plugs, fuel pump, pinion drive seal, and a differential fluid change. The car received a partial restoration prior to when the seller acquired it in 2005 and was subsequently finished in 2008 under their ownership. Now offered with records spanning the most recent two owners, this final year C1 is offered with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
Finished in Fawn Beige, the body was stripped down to bare fiberglass and refinished in the original color featuring matching coves. The car is equipped with a black convertible soft top as well as a matching removable hardtop. Styling cues specific to the 1962 Corvette include wrap-around windshield, quad round taillights, and creased rear quarter panels.
The car rides on factory 15" steel wheels covered by original style hubcaps with imitation knock-off spinners. Hercules Roadtour 655 MRE blackwall tires are mounted on all four wheels.
The interior is finished in black vinyl bucket seats, accentuated with matching door panels and carpets. The C1 also features lap belts for both passengers. A vintage look AM/FM radio with cassette deck and auxiliary input was fitted in place of the original, which sits above the heater controls and clock. A polished Hurst shifter was installed, surrounded by the factory trim plate mounted to the floor.
Situated behind the factory 17" 3-spoke steering wheel sits the instrument cluster, featuring a 160-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, in addition to gauges for fuel, water temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. A chrome rearview mirror is mounted on the factory location atop the dash, just in front of the center speaker. The seller does note the fuel gauge has intermittent inaccurate readings. The five-digit analog odometer shows 77k miles.
Power is derived from a 350ci crate engine that was installed in 2008, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. From the manufacturer, the engine is rated at 285 horsepower and has approximately 3,200 miles on it since installation. Prior to the sellers acquisition, the radiator, alternator, springs, shocks, brakes had all been replaced and the ignition system was converted to an electronic unit. The car was recently serviced in January 2020 which included an oil change, new filters, spark plugs, fuel pump, pinion drive seal, as well as differential fluid flush.
Additional under hood and underbody photos are shown in the gallery.
The car has won numerous awards from local shows in the North Texas region. Included with the car is the matching removable hardtop as well as service records dating back to 2005. This 1962 Corvette is now offered on a clean Texas title in the name of the seller.
@msfinearts – question: is the car in good driveable condition? any mechanical work needs to be done to it? ...
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. The car is in excellent condition with no mechanical issues. I just had it serviced on Monday - oil changed etc.
