This garage-kept 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT is one of the approximately 26,000 Fieros produced during its final model year and is reportedly the last one made with a manual transmission. It features a two-seater cabin ahead of a mid-mounted 2.8-liter V6 that sends its power to the road through a 5-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. Exterior features include pop-up headlights, disc brakes, a rear spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. Inside, the car comes equipped with bucket seats, air conditioning, a tilt steering column, a center console, and power windows. Finished in black over a gray leather interior, this 852-mile Fiero GT is available now and comes with a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clear Michigan title.
Pontiac rolled out the Fiero for the 1984 model year, making it America's only mass-produced, mid-engined car at the time. The following year, Pontiac introduced a new V6 engine to the Fiero range, which expanded to include the GT model. This final-year 1988 Fiero GT is finished in an all-black color scheme that covers the bumpers, mirror caps, driver-side intake, rear spoiler, and Pontiac-branded rear trim plate. Features include amber turn signals in the lower front fascia, pop-up headlights, "GT" B-pillar logos, darkened taillight lenses, and two pairs of round exhaust finishers. The seller reports that one of the pop-up headlights does not deploy, possibly because of a vacuum hose leak.
The car rolls on black 15-inch lattice wheels with a silver lip and tires with black sidewall lettering.
The two-seater cabin is furnished with gray carpeting, gray leather bucket seats, gray door panels, a black and gray center console, and a coordinating dashboard. It comes equipped with air conditioning, a tilt steering column, power windows, and a rear storage compartment between the seats. The main compartment in front of the cabin holds the spare tire and jack. A carpeted trunk area is located in front of the mid-mounted engine.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6,500-rpm tachometer, various warning lights, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 852 miles, which the seller states are original miles.
The mid-mounted 2.8-liter V6 with multi-port fuel injection was rated to produce 135 horsepower when new. It comes paired with a Muncie-built Getrag 5-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. According to the seller, the car runs perfectly.
The 1988 Fiero received several updates, including revised front control arms and knuckles and a tri-link rear suspension with new knuckles.
A California Car Cover is included with the purchase of the car.
Congratulations Jugdish. Please post a video on YouTube when you get the car.
