Vehicle Story

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu two-door hardtop sport coupe was originally delivered to Rowland Chevrolet, Inc. in Pineville, Kentucky and sold to its first owner in June of its model year. Under the hood, the small-block 350ci V8 is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and this Chevelle described as a solid running, driving example with a reupholstered interior, new BFGoodrich tires, and a dual exhaust system with chrome finished tips. Finished in Dusk Blue over a black vinyl interior, this second-generation Chevelle is now offered by the selling dealer in California with service records, a build sheet, purchase documentation, and a clear Tennessee title.

The Chevelle model first debuted in 1964 on the General Motors A-body platform as a midsize offering and received a refresh in 1968. Design language was adapted to incorporate a semi-fastback roofline, and body styles were offered in coupe, sedan convertible, and station wagon configurations. This example from 1969 comes in two-door hardtop form and has a rust-free body that is painted Dusk Blue (51). Brightwork includes the front and rear bumpers, window trim, and Malibu badging, with additional features including quad headlights and silver-painted rocker panels.

Black-painted steel 15” wheels with Bowtie-branded dog dish hub caps are wrapped in new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires sized 255/70R15. Handling is assisted by power steering and power-assisted disc brakes.

The cabin is upholstered with black vinyl bench seats matched to the door panels, padded dash, headliner, and carpeting. Features include a cue-ball shift knob, Malibu dash badging, and a two-spoke steering wheel. The trunk is lined with a vinyl mat and contains a spare tire.

Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge with warning lights for other vehicle systems. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 16k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The small-block 350ci V8 has a matte black engine bay and has a chrome-finished air cleaner, Chevy orange valve covers, and other dress-up elements. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes service records, a build sheet, and original purchase documentation showing a total cash price of $3,410.70.

@KarlKnaak – Car looks nice! Do you know if drive tran numbers matching? Motor H.P.? LT-1 350? 12 bolt posi / gears? Original color? Restored? Date? Thanks, Karl ...

Hello, thank you. We have not decoded the vehicle and are NOT representing as a numbers matching. The color is code 51 matching the trim tag of dusk blue. It seems like an older restoration but well done. If you want a very beautiful running Chevelle 4 speed its the perfect car.
