This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was reportedly certified as an RS/SS Z11 Indianapolis 500 pace car by Jerry MacNeish. It is powered by a newly blueprinted and rebuilt 396ci Chevrolet big-block V8 backed by a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. Features include a body-color Endura front bumper, rear flag holders, power brakes, power steering, a power top, an AM radio, Rally Pack gauges, and a woodgrain steering wheel. This repainted Dover White drop-top Camaro with Hugger Orange Z28 stripes and an orange houndstooth interior is available now and comes with an orange convertible boot, engine rebuild and safety inspection receipts, a picture of the Jerry MacNeish certification, and a clear title from the selling dealer.
According to the selling dealer, the exterior was recently refinished in Dover White with Hugger Orange Z28 stripes. Chrome and stainless trim, emblems, and door handles are in place. A D80 front spoiler, an Endura body-color front bumper, hide-away headlights, an SS-badged grille, and headlight doors along with a ZL2 ducted hood can be found at the front. The passenger compartment is covered by a white fabric convertible top. A chrome bumper, flagpole stands, valance with reverse lights, an SS emblem, and a spoiler can be seen at the rear. Orange D96 wheel well accent striping and white rocker panels are in place. "Official Pace Car" lettering is located on both doors. A gold "500" Festival decal is on both quarter panels.
The ZJ7 Rally wheels are wrapped in F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas bias-ply tires. Stainless trim is mounted on all four wheel wells.
The front bucket seats with headrests are covered in orange vinyl with cloth houndstooth insert panels (RPO code Z87, trim code 720), separated by a black center console, and equipped with 3-point black seat belts (RPO code YA1). A matching rear seat and color-keyed door panels and interior quarter panels are present. The headlight and wiper switches, AM/FM radio, ashtray, glovebox, and center console are accented with woodgrain trim. The climate controls can be found in the center of the dashboard. The carpeted trunk contains an orange convertible boot.
The black dashboard houses a clock, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and a 120-mph speedometer with a 5-digit odometer reading 13,905 miles. According to the selling dealer, true mileage is unknown. A Rally Pack gauge set consisting of battery voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure displays is located ahead of the 4-speed shifter.
The original engine has been replaced with a newly blueprinted, rebuilt, and restamped 396ci big-block V8. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. A cowl induction-specific air cleaner, chrome valve covers, emissions equipment, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds as well as power steering and power brake components are visible under the hood.
The selling dealer will include an orange convertible boot, the current safety inspection, receipts from the engine rebuild, and a photo of the MacNeish Certification Reports RS/SS Z11 certification with the car. The actual certificate is not included, but a replacement is available directly from Jerry MacNeish for a $250 fee.
This car has it all, code 50 dover white, proper code houndstooth orange interior, flag holders, endura front bumper, similar cars easily go six figures. Good luck.

@Loudominion – Did Camaro have A396 When 1st produced and do you have documentation ...
When we purchased the vehicle from Barrett Jackson it came with a certificate from Mcneish (which has been since misplaced but we have the photo shown in gallery). Other than that, since its not the original motor we do not have any documentation. If you are local or you wish to send an inspector to verify you are welcome to do so. Thanks.

@BobbyJoe67 – Is it out of line to ask what is reserve number ? ...
Hi BobbyJoe it’s unfortunately against auction policy for me to disclose reserve, please bid to what you are comfortable with, I can tell you that it’s lower than the 2 cars that just sold at Barrett Jackson for $110k and $104k. Happy bidding
