Vehicle Story

This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 is a British luxury sedan that offers seating for four in a cabin furnished with leather seating and walnut veneers and equipped with power steering, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control with heat and air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio with a cassette player and four speakers. The Pininfarina-designed exterior features black rubber bumpers, a chrome grille and trim, a power sunroof, left- and right-side gas caps, and dual exhaust outlets. Power is supplied by a 4.2-liter inline-six engine that sends its power to the road through a 3-speed automatic transmission and the rear 15-inch wheels. Finished in Jaguar Racing Green over a Biscuit interior, this Series III XJ6 is available now and comes with factory handbooks, a clean Carfax report, and a clear title.

In 1979, Jaguar introduced a Series III version of its XJ sedan with steel bodywork designed by Pininfarina. This particular XJ6 is finished in Jaguar Racing Green accented with full-length pinstriping. In the front, the vertically ribbed grille is topped with a "growler" emblem and flanked by two pairs of round headlights. Additional brightwork is found on the black rubber bumpers, mirror caps, greenhouse glass trim, door handles, dual gas caps, and trunk lid. In the back, there are two fuel caps and dual exhaust finishers.

The car rides on a set of two-tone 15-inch wheels wrapped in black-sidewall tires.

The cabin is furnished with Biscuit leather bucket front and bench rear seating, color-coordinated door panels, and brown carpeting. The black dashboard and door panels are trimmed with walnut woodgrain veneers. Equipment includes power steering, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control with heat and air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio with a cassette player and four speakers. In addition, the interior offers a digital trip computer with selectable readouts, a lockable glovebox with a vanity mirror, a front center console with a storage compartment, and a fold-down center armrest in the back row.

Instrumentation behind the two-spoke steering wheels consists of a 5,500-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, warning lights for various vehicle functions, and gauges for the oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 71,237 miles, which is supported by the mileage shown on the Carfax report.

Under the front-hinged hood is a naturally aspirated DOHC 4.2-liter I6 engine. A 3-speed automatic sends its power to the road. According to the Carfax report, the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors were repaired in October of 2019. The video below contains in-cabin footage of the car being driven above 60 mph.

The car rides on an independent suspension that includes shocks and coil springs at both ends. Power disc brakes bring the car to a stop.

Factory handbooks are included with the sale of the vehicle.
