This 1970 Chevrolet Nova two-door is an SS-badged performance coupe that was restored in 2019 and is powered by a rebuilt 350ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This third-generation Nova is said to run and drive well and features upgrades including aluminum wheels, a vinyl roof, a Hurst shift lever, an MSD ignition system, and SS trim throughout. Finished in black over a black vinyl interior, this third-generation Nova is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
The compact Chevy II Nova model was first sold in 1962 on a semi-unibody chassis in coupe, sedan, convertible, and station wagon configurations. The X-body later evolved into its second generation in 1966 and was again reworked in 1968 with a lengthened wheelbase and refreshed design language. This Nova two-door from 1970 was treated to a restoration in 2019 and was refinished in black with a matching vinyl roof. Features include a cowl-intake hood, SS badging, bodyside moldings, and good-condition brightwork throughout the perimeter.
Aluminum five-spoke wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A and General Altimax tires.
The cabin is trimmed with reupholstered black vinyl bucket seats, matched to the door panels, padded dash, and carpeting. Options include a radio, a Hurst shift lever, an SS-branded steering wheel, and a Nova placard on the passenger side of the dash. The trunk is lined with a vinyl mat and contains a Hankook whitewall spare tire.
Instrumentation includes a factory sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge, and an aftermarket two-gauge auxiliary pod is mounted below the center-dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 90k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller notes that the speedometer cluster shows gear selections from an automatic transmission car which indicates the car may have originally been configured as an automatic.
The 350ci V8 was rebuilt in 2019 and has accrued roughly 10k miles since a rebuild. Upgrades include a chrome-finished air cleaner, an MSD ignition system, and more. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
