This 1999 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is a two-door, rear-wheel-drive sport truck powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It comes equipped with fog lights, a 2002 Lightning grille, factory OEM wheels which are finished in black, and side-exit exhaust outlets. Its two-tone cabin features air conditioning, cruise control, an aftermarket head unit, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. One of the 1,533 Bright Red Lightnings produced during the 1999 model year's 4,000-unit production run, this high-performance F-150 has a Medium Graphite cloth and Ebony leather interior. It is available now and comes with its original owner's manuals, an SVT certificate, two sets of keys, and a clear Florida title.
The single-cab, short-bed exterior is finished in Bright Red and accented with body-color bumpers, black mirror caps, and black rear bumper treadplates. The front end features foglights, the grille from a 2002 Lightning, and clear turn signals. Lightning badges are located on the front fenders. A pair of exhaust finishers exit the vehicle on the passenger's side ahead of the rear tire. Black side steps enable access to the inside of the Flareside bed. A towing receiver and a trailer brake light wiring connection is located at the rear.
The truck rolls on a set of factory OEM wheels which are finished in black and are wrapped in low-profile blackwall tires.
The cabin is furnished with a Medium Graphite cloth and Ebony leather bench seat with a center section that folds down to provide a storage compartment and a cupholder. The door panels and dashboard are finished in a matching color combination. Gray carpeting covers the floor. Features include remote keyless entry, 6-way power controls for the driver's seat, cruise control, an aftermarket head unit, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. According to the seller, the heater blows hot and the air conditioning is ice cold.
Instrumentation consists of a gear selection indicator, a 140-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, boost pressure, and coolant temperature. According to the seller, the odometer shows 100K miles, which is in line with the December 5, 2016 entry of 97,742 miles on the Carfax report.
Power comes from a 5.4-liter Triton V8 equipped with an Eaton Gen IV Roots-type supercharger that helped it produce 360 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque when new. Other equipment includes a water-to-air inercooler and engine and transmission coolers. The engine sends its output to the road through a 4R100 4-speed automatic and a limited-slip rear differential with a 3.55:1 final drive ratio.
From the factory, 1999 SVT Lightnings came with a twin short- and long-arm suspension design, coil springs, shocks, and a 31-millimeter solid stabilizer bar in the front and a solid axle, staggered shocks, five-leaf springs, and a 23-millimeter solid stabilizer bar at the rear. Steering is provided by a power-assisted recirculating-ball setup.
An entry on the Carfax report dated December 7, 2012 shows that this truck was involved in a accident. The original owner's manuals, an SVT certificate, and two sets of keys are included with the purchase of the truck.
