This 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a mechanically-sorted four-door British luxury saloon that received over $12,000 in mechanical work within the past year including a rebuilt transmission, replacement suspension pump, and overhauled braking system. The valve cover gaskets, fuel sending unit, alternator, timing cover, blower motor mounts, and air conditioning also received service and the 6.75-liter L410 V8 is deemed to be in optimal running condition, mated to a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission that received new transmission mounts as part of the aforementioned mechanical refurbishment. Having resided in Arizona long-term, this Silver Shadow wears a glossy and rust-free Silver Mink finish over a blue leather interior and is now offered with a toolkit, service records, a set of lambs’ wool floor mats, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The British-produced full-size Silver Shadow model was launched in 1965 using unitary body and chassis construction. This 1975 four-door saloon was refinished in Silver Mink (9500691) and topped with a dark blue Everflex roof. The body features quad headlamps, a waterfall-style grille with a hood ornament, bodyside moldings, chrome-trimmed black bumpers, and Silver Shadow II badging which was added under prior ownership.
Steel wheels with body-colored hubcaps are wrapped in Hankook Optimo H724 whitewall tires. Replacement Bilstein shock absorbers were installed under prior ownership, and the suspension pump was replaced as part of the 2021 overhaul as well as a new brake master cylinder, brake accumulators, and hoses with braided lines.
The cabin is trimmed in blue leather and color-coordinated door panels, carpeting, and floor mats. The dash wears a woodgrain fascia that continues to the upper door panels. Additional amenities include air conditioning, an 8-track audio system, rear footrests, and a Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel.
Smiths-branded instrumentation includes a 130-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and more. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 52k miles, but true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 6.75-liter L410 V8 received $12,000 in maintenance over the past year, including service to the valve cover gaskets, fuel sending unit and gauge, alternator, timing cover and all associated hardware, transmission mounts, blower motors and mounts, and the air conditioning compressor and drier. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted rebuilt 3-speed THM 400 automatic transmission.
The chassis uses a high-pressure hydropneumatic setup with dual-circuit braking and a self-leveling suspension. Replacement Bilstein shock absorbers were installed under prior ownership, as well as a new brake master cylinder, brake accumulators, and hoses with braided lines.
The sale includes service records, a toolkit, and a $2,200 set of lambs’ wool floor mats. A driving video is available for viewing below.
