Vehicle Story

This 1954 Mercury Monterey is powered by a rebuilt 302ci Ford V8 connected to an automatic transmission and comes equipped with a variety of upgrades, including a redone interior with power front bucket seats and new suspension parts. It features front disc brakes, spotlights, headers, lake pipes, wire wheel covers, and whitewall tires. The seller recommends completing the exhaust from the headers back, finishing the ignition and starter wiring, putting in a new driveshaft, and reinstalling the radiator. Finished in two-tone turquoise and white over a turquoise vinyl and dark teal cloth interior, this rust-free classic Mercury is available now and comes with its uninstalled radiator and original Mercury transmission, a repair manual, and a clear Utah title.

The exterior is finished in a two-tone combination of a turquoise body and a white roof. It features chrome bumpers and brightwork trim on the grille frame, hood, body sides, rear doors, and other areas. Equipment includes dual side mirrors, a pair of spotlights at the base of the windshield, and lake pipes.

A set of wheels with wire covers and whitewall tires connect the car to the pavement.

The refurbished interior comes with turquoise vinyl and dark teal cloth front bucket and rear bench seating and color-coordinated door panels, carpeting, and dashboard with a white bottom half. Features include front vent windows, manual window cranks, power front seats, a 2-spoke steering wheel with a half horn ring and an aftermarket cover, and a column-mounted automatic shifter.

Instrumentation consists of a 110-mph speedometer along with gauges for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and alternator. The 5-digit odometer shows 39K miles and the seller reports a figure of 100K miles, but true mileage is unknown.

Under the hood is a rebuilt 302ci V8 connected to polished valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. Braking is provided by a power brake booster, a dual-circuit master cylinder, and front discs. According to the seller, in order for the car to be finished, it needs the exhaust to be completed from the headers back, the ignition and starter wiring to be finished, a new driveshaft put in, and the included radiator reinstalled. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission that is not original to the car.

The uninstalled radiator and original Mercury transmission and a repair manual will be included with the purchase of the car.
