This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am comes equipped with factory air conditioning, four-wheel disc brakes, and snowflake-style wheels on newer Goodyear Eagle tires. Under the shaker hood scoop, the 403ci V8 has been paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Refinished in metallic silver over the reportedly original red cloth interior, this second-generation Firebird is now offered by a North Carolina dealer with a clear title.
Sharing F-body chassis architecture with its Chevrolet Camaro sibling, the Firebird entered its second generation in 1970 and was offered exclusively as a two-door coupe. This Firebird comes in Trans Am trim and was repainted metallic silver. The body features a chin spoiler, a Firebird hood graphic, a shaker scoop, fender vents, a three-piece rear spoiler, a ribbed taillight panel, and polished exhaust outlets below each rear tire.
Snowflake-style 15-inch wheels are wrapped in newer Goodyear Eagle raised-white-letter tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Steering is power-assisted.
The reportedly original interior is fitted with red cloth upholstery over bucket seats, a matching center console, dash, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Amenities include factory air conditioning, an aftermarket Sony stereo, and a trunk-mounted space-saver spare tire.
Instrumentation is housed within an engine-turned aluminum panel and includes a 100-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. A five-digit mechanical odometer tracks accrued mileage, but true mileage is unknown.
The Oldsmobile-sourced 403ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission.
A $350 dealer fee will be added to the sale price.
