Vehicle Story

This 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe K1500 Z71 4x4 is a two-door sport utility vehicle that was refurbished in 2018 and is powered by an L31 5.7-liter Vortec V8 paired with a 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission and an Autotrac dual-range transfer case. This Tahoe was originally sold in Wichita, Kansas, and later relocated to Michigan, where it has been garage-kept since 2004. Features include fender flares, color-matched side steps, a tow package, cargo racks, newer carpeting, and more. Finished in black over a gray leather interior, this first-generation Tahoe is now offered with service records, a CARFAX report, and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The Tahoe full-size sport utility vehicle was brought to market in 1994 sharing chassis and body engineering with its GMC Yukon counterpart on the GMT400 pickup platform. This Tahoe two-door with the Z71 suspension package from 1999 has been garage-kept per the seller. The exterior was subject to a cosmetic restoration that was completed in 2018 with some new parts added including the weather stripping, grille, and aftermarket black-finished tubular side steps. Additional features include tow hooks, roof rails, a hitch receiver, and newer exhaust hardware.

Aluminum two-tone black and polished 16-inch XD wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A raised-white-letter tires. According to the seller, this Tahoe was outfitted with heavy-duty trailering equipment. The CARFAX notes that the brake fluid was flushed in January of 2022.

The cabin is fitted with gray power-operated leather bucket front seats along with a matching center console, dashboard, rear bench, and new carpeting with color-keyed floor mats. Equipment includes air conditioning, a factory Delco AM/FM/cassette head unit with an auxiliary CD player, remote keyless entry, cruise control, a rearview mirror with an integrated compass and outside temperature display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power mirrors, push-button 4WD controls, and additional power convenience options.

Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges that display the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The 6-digit mechanical odometer reads 214K miles, which is supported by the CARFAX report.

The L31 fuel-injected 5.7-liter Vortec V8 was rated at 255 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a column-shifted 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission, a 2-speed transfer case, and a G80 locking differential with 3.73:1 gearing.

Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The CARFAX report shows an accident dated October of 2000. There is an open manufacturer recall from 2000 regarding FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) neck extension requirements with an available remedy. Service records will be provided with the sale.
