This 1974 BMW 2002tii is finished in black over a tan leather interior and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Partially restored in 2006, the car is documented with service records dating back to 1999. Equipment includes Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection and later-model BMW basketweave wheels on new tires. Located in Greer, South Carolina, this 2002 is now offered with a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished black in 2006. Prior to applying the new finish, the car was stripped to bare metal through sandblasting and properly bodyworked to ensure a consistent high-level finish throughout. All brightwork is in good condition with the seller noting a new OEM trunk trim piece has been added. Styling features include dual side mirrors with chrome covers, upper and lower body trim, and impact bumpers front and rear.
The original wheels have been replaced with 14" basket-weave style ones from a later model 3-series BMW. They are wrapped in BF Goodrich Touring T/A tires on all four corners that have fewer than 2k miles on them.
The interior is fitted with tan leather bucket seats with matching door panels, carpet, and headliner. The original radio has been replaced with an aftermarket Audiovox head unit with cassette which the seller states does not currently work, while the center console houses the shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission and E-brake handle.
Instrumentation sits behind a black 3-spoke steering wheel and includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a gauge with fuel level, coolant temperature, and warning lights. An analog clock resides in the center of the dash outside the gauge cluster, and supplementary gauges were added in the center console below the radio head unit. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, of which about 2k miles have been added by the seller over 2.5 years of ownership. The seller indicates that some of the electrical features including the horn and dashboard lights are not functional at this time.
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-4 cylinder engine is original to the car and was factory rated at 130 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The car retains the majority of its stock components, though the ignition system has been upgraded with a Crane Cams Ignition box. Since 2006 mechanical and cosmetic work includes new fuel lines, transmission servicing, and interior work, with records available, and additional service records dating back to 1999. The most recent maintenance includes an oil change in September 2020 as well as fluid level checks.
Additional photos showing the underside are provided in the gallery.
The sale includes service records dating back to 1999.
