Vehicle Story

This 1971 Chevrolet C10 2WD short-bed pickup reportedly was with its second owner for 17 years and has been in Texas its entire life until being relocated to Southern California. It has been driven just 4,000 miles since a rebuild of its upgraded big-block 454ci V8, which is equipped with custom rocker arms, electric cooling fans, and a Flowmaster exhaust system. Power is fed to the rear rally wheels through a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and braking comes from an upgraded disc system. Finished in two-tone yellow and white over a reupholstered two-tone tan vinyl and brown cloth interior, this second-generation C/K-series C10 is now offered with documentation and a clear Texas title in the seller's name.

For the 1967 model year, Chevrolet rolled out what became known as the Action Line series of pickups. Four years later, a mid-cycle refresh brought redesigned fascias, an egg-crate grille design, and a bowtie center emblem. This 1971 C10 two-wheel-drive pickup was originally manufactured with a long bed but was later converted to a short-bed body style. The body was repainted in two-tone yellow and white and fitted with 454 badges on the front fenders and replacement woodgrain bodyside moldings. The seller notes that there are some small rust bubbles below the doors.

Silver steel 15-inch rally wheels wear hubcaps and polished trim rings and are wrapped in Hankook whitewall tires. Braking is handled by discs up front and drums in the rear.

The interior is appointed with new two-tone tan vinyl and brown cloth bench upholstery and brown carpeting topped with bowtie-logo rubber mats. The yellow metal interior panels are color-matched to the exterior.

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 37,115 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller notes that all gauges are functional but the lamp does not illuminate.

There are approximately 4k miles on the upgraded big-block 454ci V8 is equipped with custom rocker arms, electric cooling fans, and a Flowmaster exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes a photocopy of the original El Paso, Texas title dated 1971. The seller has provided videos of the truck below.

@Guionesboy – Are there any rust issues besides the bubbling mentioned ...

No. Just some minor bubbling under both doors, not on the doors but the panel under. Ver few, easy fix!
