This 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL roadster has been owned by the same family and spent its entire garage-kept life in Southern California. Power is supplied by a fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 and delivered to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. It comes equipped with chrome-trimmed black bumpers with guards, fog lights, and body-color wheel covers. Interior features include power windows, the factory Becker Europa radio, and new upholstery, sheepskin seat covers, and new carpeting. Finished in its original yellow paint with a new brown soft top over a new Palomino vinyl interior, this R107 SL is available now and comes with its original tool roll and owner's manual, a body-color removable hardtop with storage rack, service invoices dating back to 2009, a Haynes Repair Manual, a service manual disc, three keys, uninstalled parts, and a clear California title in the seller's name.
The body is dressed in its factory-applied yellow paint, which is accented with black and chrome bumpers and side moldings as well as brightwork parts and badges. The front end features quad round headlights, rectangular fog lights, amber turn signals, a Mercedes badge, and a three-pointed star grille ornament. A new brown fabric convertible top with plastic rear windows covers the passenger compartment. The rear end features tri-color taillights and a single driver-side-mounted exhaust outlet with dual tips. According to the seller, there are no dents, nicks, or rust spots on the car, but there is minor splitting on the front and rear black rubber bumpers.
The 14-inch wheels wear covers with Mercedes-branded body-color centers and are wrapped in Hercules tires.
Inside, this SL has been refreshed with new carpeting and Palomino vinyl upholstery. Features include power windows, the factory Becker Europa radio, a master power lock system, and new sheepskin seat covers.
The VDO instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, clock, and a cluster that includes gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The 6-digit odometer shows 92K miles.
Power is supplied by a 4.5-liter V8 with Bosch fuel injection that sits under a new hood pad. A 3-speed automatic sends the engine's output to the rear wheels. The ignition was converted from points to an electronic system in 2018. A new battery was installed in October of 2021. The seller reports the car has received routine service according to factory recommendations and as needed.
The car's original tool roll and owner's manual, a body-color removable hardtop with storage rack, several service invoices dating back to 2009, a Haynes Repair Manual, a service manual disc, three keys, and uninstalled parts will be included with the sale of the car.
