This 1966 Ford Mustang is a C-code convertible that was reportedly won in a 2010 Rotary Club of Bailey's Crossroads raffle in Virginia. It was built on May 26, 1966 and configured with a 289ci V8, a C-4 3-speed automatic transmission, Arcadian Blue paint, and a blue interior with bench seats, but has since been equipped with front buckets. In 2007, it received a new convertible top and seat upholstery. Power steering, power brakes, and new wheels were installed in 2010. New tires were put on in 2021. Now available from an Ohio dealer, this first-generation Mustang comes with a convertible top boot, car cover, and clear title.
For the 1966 model year, the Ford Mustang received a new grille, side trim, and wheel covers. This particular 1966 convertible is finished in Arcadian Blue and features a blue convertible top with a plastic rear window installed in 2010. Brightwork accents include the chrome bumpers, hood lettering, side strakes, and 289 and Mustang badges. Dual exhaust finishers exit below the lower rear valance.
Period-correct Mustang wheels with red center caps were installed in 2010 and equipped with new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires last year.
The cabin is furnished with aftermarket front bucket seats and a rear bench seat, all of which were reupholstered in blue vinyl in 2007. Blue carpeting covers the floor. Woodgrain trim accents the 3-spoke steering wheel and two-tone dashboard. Equipment includes vent windows, manual window cranks on the two-tone blue door panels, a Ford-branded push-button radio, a floor-mounted automatic shifter, and a center console with two cup holders. The trunk has a patterned floor liner and a spare wheel/whitewall tire.
As part of the Mustang's 1966 refresh, Ford equipped it with a new 5-dial instrument cluster. The bank of gauges in this car includes a 140-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, amps, and coolant temperature. The 5-digit odometer shows 73K miles.
The selling dealer reports the engine bay has been detailed. It contains a 289ci V8 equipped with chrome valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. Power steering and power brake hardware were installed in 2010. Power is sent to the road through a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels.
A convertible top boot and car cover are included with the purchase of the vehicle.
