This 1963 Chevrolet Impala two-door hardtop is presented as a restoration-ready sports coupe powered by a believed numbers-matching Turbo-Fire 327ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This Impala was stored for roughly 30 years before being acquired by the seller in late 2021 and comes as a complete, rolling candidate for interior, exterior, and mechanical refurbishment. Equipment includes chrome Cragar wheels, SS badging, auxiliary gauges, and a Hurst shifter. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this third-generation Impala is now offered with a clear Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
The Impala full-size model went on the market beginning in 1958 using the General Motors B-platform with two-door hardtop and two-door convertible variants available. The lineup was expanded to include four-door sedans year later, and in 1961, the silhouette became boxier in design. This Impala two-door hardtop from 1963 was kept in long-term storage for about 30 years before being acquired by the seller in late 2021. The exterior wears SS badging, and the red-painted body shows surface wear as well as corrosion in the rocker panels and wheel wells as illustrated in the photo carousel. The exterior features good-condition brightwork, a rear-mounted tow hitch, and an engine-turned aluminum taillight panel.
Chrome-finished Cragar five-spoke wheels are wrapped in older tires that are due for replacement.
The interior provides black vinyl seating for the front buckets and rear bench, color-matched to the door panels, dash, headliner, and carpeting. Amenities include a center console, a Hurst shift lever, and a trunk-mounted spare tire with jack equipment.
Instrumentation entails a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a column-mounted 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary aftermarket under-dash gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 35k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
Seller states he thinks the 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 is numbers matching and reportedly runs, although it has not been started by the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission, which is believed to be original to the vehicle.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
