This 1957 Chevrolet 150 2-door sedan received a frame-off restoration that involved the body being removed and covered with 17 coats of paint and the frame being sandblasted. It comes equipped with a 1968 Corvette 327ci V8 rebuilt 2,500 miles ago and a rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission. Other features include a re-chromed one-piece front bumper, American Racing wheels, BFGoodrich tires, power disc brakes, a CPP power steering box, an American Autowire wiring system, and a redone interior with an Ididit tilt steering column. This black 1957 Chevrolet with a black and red interior is available now with boxes of uninstalled parts, receipts associated with the restoration process, a reprinted owner's manual, and a clear title.
The seller states that the body was covered with 17 coats of black paint while off of the frame and then reinstalled. A re-chromed one-piece bumper and a new grille can be found in the front. The windshield has a shaded brow line and the windshield wipers have been removed. A chrome bumper, taillights, and dual exhaust outlets are at the rear. The seller notes the car has new windows and new door and window weatherstripping, but that its hood is not perfectly fitted.
A set of 17-inch 5-spoke American Racing wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich radial tires.
The front and rear bench seats are covered in new black and red pleated vinyl, which is carried onto the door panels. Black Chevrolet-branded rubber floor mats are located in the front and back seats. Black carpeting covers the floorboards throughout the cabin. A black tilt Ididit steering column connected to a CPP power steering box is topped with a 3-spoke chrome steering wheel with a black grip. A clock can be found to the right of the radio. According to the seller, the car is not equipped with air conditioning or heat.
The steel dash is refinished in black and features a 120-mph speedometer and new coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The 5-digit odometer shows 55K miles, but true mileage on the chassis is unknown. An aftermarket 3-gauge panel is mounted under the radio.
The engine is a 327ci Chevrolet V8 from a 1968 Corvette and is backed by a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission. According to the seller, the engine was rebuilt 2,500 miles ago and makes 400 horsepower. A new American Autowire wiring harness and Edlebrock 202 aluminum heads have been installed. Finned aluminum valve covers, an open-element air cleaner, a polished aluminum intake, and an aftermarket serpentine belt accessory drive complete the engine. A dual-circuit power brake master cylinder and a new aluminum radiator can be seen under the hood. The seller reports a quarter-sized oil leak can be seen under the car after every drive.
Other new parts include the brake and fuel lines. Braking is handled by power disc brakes at all four corners. Additional photos of the vehicle's underside are in the picture gallery to the right.
Boxes of uninstalled parts, receipts associated with the restoration process, car cover and a reprinted owner's manual will be included with the sale of the car.
