This 2001 BMW 740iL is an extended-wheelbase luxury sedan that offers room for five in a cabin furnished with leather seats and woodgrain trim. Amenities include a sunroof; power windows, locks, and mirrors; dual-zone automatic climate control; a color infotainment system display; and a power rear sunshade. On the outside, it comes equipped with fog lights and BMW-correct wheels. Finished in navy blue over a tan interior, this final-year E38 7 Series is available now and comes with a clean Carfax report and a clear California title.
Launched as a 1994 model, the third-generation BMW 7 Series was available in standard i and extended-wheelbase iL body styles with 8- and 12-cylinder engines. This 2001 740iL from the E38 model's final production year is navy blue and features BMW's signature twin-kidney grille, body-color bumpers, fog lights, body-color mirrors, side moldings, and brightwork trim on the grille frames, bumpers, sides, and trunk lid.
The car rolls on silver BMW-correct 7-spoke wheels and blackwall tires.
Inside, this 7 Series is furnished with tan leather front bucket and rear bench seats, a matching front center console and carpeting, brown and tan door panels, and a matching dashboard topped with an aftermarket carpeted dash pad. Woodgrain trim accents the door panels, dashboard, center stack, shift knob, and center console. Features include a sunroof; power windows, locks, and mirrors; audio and cruise controls on the black 4-spoke steering wheel; dual-zone automatic climate control; a color infotainment system display; manual rear side sunshades; and a power rear sunshade.
The dashboard houses a bank of instruments that includes a 155-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. According to the seller, the odometer shows 87K miles. The last mileage entry posted on the Carfax report in November of 2019 was for 69,954 miles.
Power is supplied by a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8 that produced 282 horsepower when new. It sends its output to the road through a 5-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels.
According to the Carfax report, this car has had an accident-free history with two owners and has spent time in Florida and California, where it is currently located.
