This 1961 Cadillac Series 62 two-door was previously owned by the same group of friends for the last 15-20 years. It comes equipped with a 390ci V8 mated to a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, power windows, factory air conditioning, rear fender skirts, and power brakes. Finished in Olympic White over a light blue cloth interior, this seventh-generation Series 62 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
The Series 62 first debuted in 1940 as a full-size luxury model and after a series of subsequent redesigns, the seventh-generation was introduced in 1961 with a restyled grille, dual headlamps, and a revised backlight. This Series 62 two-door hardtop has a straight body that was repainted Olympic White (12) with matching rear fender skirts. Brightwork includes the bumpers, badges, moldings, and window trim as shown in the photo carousel.
Steel 15-inch wheels wear color-matched full covers and are wrapped in whitewall tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes.
The interior is built around light blue cloth and vinyl (33) bench seats matched to the door panels, headliner, and dash. Darker blue carpeting covers the floor. Amenities include a power driver's seat, power windows, a push-button radio, an analog clock, and factory air conditioning. The dealer notes a crack in the dash, wear on the rear seat, and that the passenger-side rear window is slow to operate. The carpeted trunk contains a spare tire.
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the coolant temperature and fuel level. Aftermarket under-dash gauges displaying the amps and oil pressure have been added. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 97K miles, but true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 390ci OHV V8 is reported to be in good mechanical condition as shown during the start-up sequence in the seller’s video. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
Additional photos showing the underside of the car are available in the carousel.
A dealer fee of $150 will be collected upon the sale of the vehicle. The seller has provided a video of the car below.
