Vehicle Story

This 1965 Ford Falcon Futura two-door hardtop is a compact coupe that was restored under prior ownership and is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. It features a modern audio system, polished aluminum wheels, a dual exhaust system, and more. Finished in Raven Black over a black vinyl interior, this second-generation Falcon is now offered with a clear Nevada title in the seller’s name.

Starting in the 1960 model year, the Falcon model was marketed as a scaled-down version of the larger Galaxie. Body styles included two-door, four-door, station wagon, and convertible layouts. For 1964, it was redesigned and given more squared-off styling. This Falcon from 1965 has a rust-free two-door hardtop body finished in correct Raven Black and accented with chrome brightwork. The exhaust has been upgraded to a Flowmaster system with dual polished outlets.

Polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels are wrapped in tires that are in good condition, according to the seller.

The interior is fitted with black vinyl bench seating and matching door panels, headliner, and carpeting. The dash is accented with a full-width aluminum panel. Additional amenities include a modern Bluetooth-enabled stereo with newer speakers in the rear window deck, a vinyl trunk mat, and a battery cut-off switch. The seller notes that the horn needs to be reconnected and there is no air conditioning or heating currently installed.

Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer accompanied by gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. An auxiliary coolant temperature gauge has been mounted below the dash. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 81K miles, which the seller reports is original mileage.

According to the seller, the 289ci V8 runs well, but it has a small oil leak. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a column-shifted C4 3-speed automatic transmission.
