This garage-kept 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Convertible is number 11 of 50 special editions produced in collaboration with the Viper Club of America (VCA) for its model year and has been driven 15,986 miles since new. Power comes from an 8.3-liter V10 paired with a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This two-owner Viper was initially sold in Texas before being moved to Mississippi, where it is currently located and has been with the current owner for 16 years. Finished in Viper Race Yellow with a black soft top over a black leather and gray microfiber interior, this limited-edition third-generation Viper is now offered with service records, a window sticker, a car cover, a nose mask, an owner’s manual, a CARFAX report, and a clear Mississippi title in the seller’s name.
The first Viper debuted in 1991 as a two-door, lightweight performance roadster with limited amenities and a high-output drivetrain. Subsequent generations were rolled out in both 1996 and in 2002, by then using the chassis code ZB I and taking inspiration from the Viper Competition Coupe. This Viper SRT-10 Convertible from 2005 is painted Viper Race Yellow with a contrasting black soft top, produced as number 11 of a 50-unit production run of special editions offered only to members of the Viper Club of America. Featuring unique badging and a black hood stripe, this VCA Viper has been garage-kept under current ownership for over 15 years and reserved for cruises. The exterior features high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, fog lamps, tinted windshield glass, roll hoops, a convertible top boot, and side-exit exhaust pipes.
Smokecoat 18" X 10" front and 19” X 13" wheels are mounted inside of the original Michelin tires. Braking is performed by four-wheel anti-lock discs. Steering is power-assisted.
The 2-seat interior is fitted with black seats with gray microfiber inserts and yellow accent stitching along with black door panels, dash, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Amenities include power-adjustable pedals, air conditioning, an AM/FM/6-CD stereo with 7 speakers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, a tilt steering column, and a 12-volt power outlet. The Viper Race Yellow center stack and console trim are color-matched to the body. A serialized plaque in front of the shifter identifies this car as part of the VCA production run.
Instrumentation includes a 220-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer reads 15,986 miles, a figure that is supported by the CARFAX report.
The 8.3-liter V10 is equipped with an engine oil cooler and was factory rated at 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
An additional photo of the undercarriage is in the photo gallery to the right.
The CARFAX report shows an accident reported in December of 2007 with damage to the right front which the seller says is a error and is currently in process of disputing with CARFAX. There is an open manufacturer recall dated December of 2019 regarding the occupant restraint control module, but a remedy is available. The sale includes service records, a car cover, a window sticker, a nose mask, and an owner’s manual. The window sticker shows an original total price of $89,995.
