This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380SL convertible shows 95,000 original miles and comes with two available tops, having been garage-kept and featuring equipment such as power-assisted disc brakes, automatic climate control, cruise control, and 14” Bundt wheels. Under the hood, power is derived from a 3.8-liter M116 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Finished in black over a brown vinyl interior, this R107 380SL is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The two-seat, two-door R107 convertible first debuted in 1971 utilizing chassis elements from the midsized Mercedes-Benz W114 model. Aesthetic and mechanical refinements were applied in the subsequent years, and this 380SL from 1982 is presented as a largely-original, garage-kept example. The body is coated in black and said to retain its original exterior finishes, accompanied by two tops including a body-color hardtop. Features include fog lamps, accenting brightwork, and bumper guards.
Silver-finished 14” Bundt wheels are wrapped in tires with good tread remaining, and handling is aided by power steering along with four-wheel power disc brakes. The CARFAX notes that the brake fluid and pads were changed at 75k miles in 2004.
The two-seat interior is fitted with dark brown vinyl bucket seats that are free from rips or tears, complemented by matching door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include wood veneer trim, cruise control, power windows, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM/cassette radio.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel economy. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 95k miles, which is a true reading supported by the CARFAX report.
The original 3.8-liter M116 V8 was rated at 155 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque when new and reportedly received a timing chain replacement in recent years. The CARFAX describes notes that service was performed in April 2021, and prior maintenance included a cooling system service and oil change in 2004. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a gated, console-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission.
The CARFAX report shows history free of accidents or damage, with the first record appearing in Oregon in 1993.

Saw the timing chain was replaced, but is it a single or double timing chain?
@RadioGuyNaples – Hello, does the car have a single or double timing chain? I want to start bidding on it, need an answer please. ...
Never mind, saw the answer in the other comment :)
