Vehicle Story

This 1963 Chevrolet Impala is finished in blue over a black vinyl interior. An original matching numbers example, the Impala was owned by the seller's late father for 15 years before the seller acquired it three years ago. Originally finished in Saddle Tan, the car was refinished prior to the seller's acquisition. Powered by a matching-numbers small block 327ci V8, power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Service receipts dating back to the seller's acquisition are included in the sale. The Impala is now offered with a clear Idaho title in the seller's name.

Finished in a custom shade of blue, the Impala came from the factory finished in Saddle Tan but was changed prior to the seller's acquisition. Failure of the clearcoat is shown in the gallery along the upper portion of the driver side door and the seller also notes a rust spot on the roof, as pictured in the gallery. The tail panel features a painted gray trim panel with 3 round taillights on each side. Impala logo emblems are affixed to the rear quarter panels and polished trim pieces run the side of the car along the lower body line.

Polished 15" Centerline 005P Auto Drag wheels are wrapped in Sumic tires measuring 215/60 on all four corners. Stopping power is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The interior features black vinyl-trimmed benches front and rear with gray cloth inserts. The door panels are wrapped in matching black vinyl inserts along with black carpeting. The factory radio has been removed but the opening on the dash has not been modified. Chrome trim is featured on the sides of the front seat with a chrome shift lever for the 4-speed manual transmission.

A black two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring sits in front of the horizontal 120-mph speedometer along with an analog clock and fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows just over 37k miles, approximately 60 of which have been added by the seller.

The Impala is power by its original matching-numbers 327ci V8, rated at 300 horsepower when new. Performance upgrades include an Edlebrock aluminum intake, mesh air cleaner, distributor, and 4-barrel carburetor with an electric choke. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the factory Muncie 4-speed manual transmission with a recently upgraded Hurst Shifter. The engine is believed to have been rebuilt prior to the seller's acquisition, the most recent service includes an oil change.

Photos of the underbody are shown in the gallery.
